Rasmussen Daily Presidential poll: Obama only attracts 36 % of white voters in match-up with McCain
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows John McCain’s lead growing against both potential Democratic opponents. McCain currently leads Barack Obama 49% to 42% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% margin (see recent daily results). African-American support for Clinton has collapsed, falling to 55% in the general election match-up. Obama, on the other hand, earns solid support from African-American voters but attracts only 36% of white voters in a match-up with McCain.

Over the past month, McCain has gained ground in Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Both Democrats continue to lead in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and California (see summary of recent state general election polling).

If these numbers are staying on a level under 50 %, Dems wil have no chance in GE ( with Obama as the nominee that is)

2. Remember A Few Months Ago When Clinton Was Up By 30%?
Those polls were utterly bogus, because they were so far from the time when people had to make their decision.

Same with general election polls today; they are not predictive.

3. It's so early...Hillary's support dwindles over time and Obama's grows.
You can't expect those number to hold up for the next seven months.

14. It should also be pointed out that, despite the headline, Obama does better than Hillary in poll

5. Have we had the Presidential debates already? Have we put a billion dollars into Bush
and McCain in bed together for months?

6. National polls about the general are irrelevant at this point...
Obama does, however, need to start hammering away on HIS policy if he wants to attract people to his side. Emotional speeches will only attract a certain percentage of the electorate, the rest of us need something concrete we can hang our hats on.

7. so interesting how many hillfans who
shriek about sexism, have no problem at all with racism. None. The vile little things cheer it on.

13. Why is it racism to criticize a black politician on his issues?
You know, by labeling every critical voice as potential racist, you could just as easy put democracy on hold. Obama has not been playing on the same field as HRC before, being protected from the MSM investigative journalism. Been vetted is a political process, not a racial game.

8. And clinton won't win without a greater majority of AA vote.
not to mention, Obama still ranks better against McCain than Clinton does.

But for the last time - these polls are worthless right now.

9. "Dems wil have no chance in GE ( with Obama as the nominee that is)"
McCain beats Hillary by a larger margin according to this poll.

How does that square with your last statement? Fear monger much?

Personally, I would hope, and believe, that both our candidates wipe the floor with mclame.

10. Love your headline, totally ignores Hill's problem with black voters.
You seem to think that Hill can win with lukewarm African-American support?
