They did it again. We are all so stupid. Those tapes of Obama's pastor have been sitting on the media's desks since February of 2007 since he announced. All of a sudden all these tapes appear. Now when the democrats are fighting for the nomination and tearing each other apart. The only thing we are lucky is that they appeared now not in October (if he was the clear nominee that is when they would have come up). Someone made a tactical decision at the Corporate run media to release this now when it would be the most damaging to the democrats.
This is not a dirty trick by Senator Clinton. This a dirty trick by the GOP and the corporate controlled media. Trust me right now if Senator Clinton was the nomination frontrunner there would be something crazy about her going around about her and that is all that would be going on TV. Anything to extend the race a little bit longer. If your a Clinton Supporter and don't believe that look at the past two elections. Look what was done to Senator Kerry and VP Gore in the past two elections. Take someone's strength make it a liability. Gore's honesty and integrity. Kerry's heroism against a draft dodger...
Does anyone realize what we are up against? I'm not saying anyone should drop out to save the party but both supporters of Obama and supporters of Clinton should see this for what it clearly is.
We've been ROVED people.

I live in Philly and on my way home from work on all Philly stations all I heard was the sound clip of "Typical White Woman" played over and over and over again on the most popular radio show from 4-7pm a sports talk show. Not Rush, Not Hannety, a show where they normally talk about the Sixers and Eagles. A normally politically neutral show.
It hasn't failed yet. Clear Channel Communications got the directive from their corporate masters today.
The character assasination is out on Obama by the media. They are trying to take this him down and hard.

12. I live in Philadelphia and this was the first time that I heard some Obama commercials... |
|
Both on KYW and WOGL. So I am assuming they are airing all over now.
Note that the sports talk shows have always inserted poltics in there. You haven't been listening to them long enough. ;)

2. I never for a second thought the Clinton campaign was behind this. |

It's been clear from jumpstreet that this was a media issue. The story gained steam after Richard Cohen did a piece in the WaPo in January, and then Hannity started throwing the YouTubes up on Fox. Now everyone has run with it.
It doesn't matter, this won't destroy Obama for one major reason. Delegate Scoreboard.

No matter who are nominee is they are going to throw more than the "Kitchen Sink" at us. We need to really start getting together because this division is their only chance of winning in November.

3. I'll bet they have tapes of Hillary on the senate floor holding the Bush Knew headlines, too. |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 06:37 PM by blm
Her finest moment in the senate, imo, but the implications are EXACTLY the same as the implications made by Wright.
Gee - the superdelegates better hear about this because they really should FEAR this scenario of Hillary painted as unpatriotic and as a conspiracy theorist who believes her government was responsible for 9-11.
This is WAY worse than Wright being a pastor at Obama's church.

15. May 2002. She retreated after the backlash and never moved it forward. Some fighter, eh? |

But there is no doubt the GOP has it and would use it far easier against Hillary than they could Wright's words. She did it on the FLOOR of the Senate.
It was one of the few times I saw her do something I agreed with wholeheartedly.

6. It's politics, a process that always ends up breaking your heart |
|
It's not centralized or organized, it's chaos theory on the scale of public life.
One day you think you have some pretty good ideas about government, next you find yourself lining up to ride the zeigeist -- without falling off.
If Eagleton had told McGovern when offered the VP nod about his mental health history... if Muskie hadn't teared up... if Gary Hart hadn't challenged the press... if Dukakis hadn't ridden the tank... if Florida didn't have butterfly ballots... if Kerry had fought the swiftboaters' attack on his Vietnam record...
Small things. All blew up in an intersection of the wrong time and fate.
Become bulletproof. Keep going. They deal the cards again.

I wasn't alive at the time but from the history I read Nixon had set about playing games with the democrats throughout the entire primary season dividing the party (sound strangely familiar). Eagleton was just the last straw.
The GOP gets a pass on their scandals and the democrats have to be perfect, have a Nixon pardon, or a crazy texas millionaire with a personal grudge to get elected. I see something systemic since 1972.

11. Nixon had the 'greatest generation'; McGovern was the antiwar kids' one-issue candidate |
|
The war was in every home, over the draft and hair and sex and pot and meaningless lives and values. Nixon didn't have to mess with the Dems. He had William Safire writing lines for VP Spiro Agnew like "Nattering nabobs of negativity" so parents could smugly make fun of their kids and their values, like Archie Bunker.
A lot of America's nicest men turned into Archie Bunker with the GOP's sly encouragement. David Brinkley was too old then to have experienced it from our angle.

Don't you know that they have something reared up for HRC as soon as this stops.
How are you going to win the white house without African American and Youth Support.
How does Obama win without Women (doesn't matter of any race) support.
They set the trap and we took the bait.

21. They NEED Clinton to win the nomination |
|
Because then it's a sure thing that McCain wins the election. She can't win without super delegates, and that would completely destroy the Democratic party.

22. This is bigger than Obama vs Clinton |
|
Right now they are potraying our guy as a black power radical. I'm afraid that we are situating ourselves into a position where whoever wins the nomination they have wrote our story for us.
Trust me if Clinton wins they got something just as bad in store for her. Maybe it is she stole the election. That could be the strategy.
Obama is a racist radical, Hillary is an election thief. They are writing the democrat story right now and we are letting them.
Take your strength turn it into a weakness.
