Obama's Continental Divide
I have avoided watching the news over the past months because I can only take so much talk about the candidates. Over the years I have watched the media spin words and comments that can haunt politicians the rest of their lives. People still think Al Gore said he invented the Internet because of the media. When in reality he said he was one of the first senators to work towards making laws for the new technology.

But no media put a spin on what Senator Barack Obama’s former Minister said about America and race. And after taking the time to listen to his speech on Tuesday March 18, that was supposed to set the record straight on Obama, it proved to me why he shouldn’t be President.

First of all he admitted to hearing sermons like these in the past. Obama stated that he disagreed with them but never said he spoke with his minister. If you couldn’t stand up to him how are you going to stand up to other countries? You were part of a congregation that hates America? You were part of a congregation that has racial tension?

snip/

You say you want to unite us but you're creating the divide. You’re the Democratic George Bush. He told us that we were a divided country too, and he was a uniter. And he was, he united our pocket books with the gas pumps.

Thinking back to all of the political scandals over the years, this one seems to be the most threatening to the American people. The Clinton/Lewinski scandal didn’t affect us. Watergate was bad but once again not something that could hurt anyone. The fact that the man you chose as your spiritual counsel, and someone who taught you his “Christian” faith, may have an influence over the man running our country frightens me more than Bush getting a third term in office. The fact that you never stood up to him and confronted him on his outrageous statements shows a lack of leadership on your part.

And once again, if you couldn’t handle one man how are you going to handle our country? Being president is more than just giving speeches and shaking hands, it’s being able to make decisions and having the people be able to trust your judgement.

1. The media did put a spin the Wright videos.
If you watch the full video you will see much much more. The media made him look like a raving lunatic. You need to watch the whole video.

And also, I really feel sorry for you that this is all you took from Obama's speech.

3. We ordered the tapes and watched them all
I wasn't really impressed with his sexual gyrations from the pulpit, nor was I impressed with his saying that Black girls get raped while white girls ask for it. Unlike mainstream Dems I can live with the god damn America, but the first two, no way! Obama's speeck was inspiring but I personally would question the judgement of anyone, male or female who would have a preacher like this as a spiritual advisor

5. He said that?
Do all the DUers who have been supporting Wright know this? And accept this?

Wait until the MSM will run this if Obama is the nominee

2. It would be nice if you would let us know that this is objective
but its not, She is a Hillary supporter so I'm sure her mind was already made up

an article from the week before March 14
She, like other strong women, is instead given another name. But she has prevailed. She has the experience. And she experienced what it took to run a country before with her husband. We weren’t scared of terrorists, losing our jobs or our homes, outsourcing, or the price of gas. She has actually served on the senate and not just put in a year and then decided she was presidential material.

She has actual plans for health care and long-term plans for alleviating the need on fossil fuels. She’s been there, done that and shown us she can do it on her own and not because someone with an afternoon television show is standing behind her.

And being someone who is vain I must say I’m impressed that out of the candidates left on both sides she is holding up the best. And really that says a lot about how she will be able to handle our country under stress. For her getting into the White House will be the hardest part, not the actual job itself.

4. Worse than Watergate? Worse than a Bush third term? Good grief.
Get hold of yourself. You are losing touch with reality.

The anti-Obama posts here are becoming increasingly strident, but this one is insane.

6. Wright a bigger deal than Watergate or Lewinsky? Obama worse than Bush?
What a well-reasoned column.
