Question about the polls showing candidates v. MCCain |

I have been wondering whether supporters of Hillary may be saying to pollsters, "I'd vote for McCain if he was running against Obama" and if Obama supporters are saying, "I'd vote for McCain if he was running against Clinton."
That would skew the polls for each and have McCain look better than he might if the Dem candidate had already been chosen.
