Please, I implore Hillary Clinton to drop out for the sake of the party
Hillary has had her chance and I commend her for being a tough ass opponent but even after Wright-gate Obama is bouncing back in the polls. Yes Obama was hurt but Hillary has not capitalized on it. McCain is still beating Hillary in head to head matchups consistently.

If and this is a big if b/c I really don't want to believe this about the Clintons, but if they are praising McCain so that he can win against Obama in the GE and she can subsequently run again in 2012 it will NOT work. This is b/c Obama supporters will be so angry and remember what she did and will in no way vote for her in 2012. That is alot of people. It would be much easier for her if Obama became president and after 8 years of prosperity she runs in 2016, where she will be met with goodwill from democrats, and she will receive the support of AA's and Obama's young supporters after he campaigns for her. She will only be 68 and since women generally live longer than men, it will not be considered old.

If Hillary does the right thing, she will ensure a prosperous future for herself and the democratic party.

The Clinton's are the real Democratic party, Howard Dean and Hillary's soulless empty suit of an opponent are just prostitutes to the clueless working class hating Chardonnay set who only know what NPR tells them.

He just blocking a white Democratic candidate from winning and will be rewarded it for by his corporate masters. In case you haven't noticed Hillary's opponent does poorly in battleground states, hell, he couldn't win Massachusetts and California. Polls show him doing poorly in New Jersey, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.........He does well in states we can't win and he alienates white working class voters who don't have the "white guilt thing" going on.

64. Whoah, that post was pretty offensive.
I'm white (not that it matters) and my support for Obama has nothing to do with "white guilt." Obama has won the whitest state in the fucking Union (VT) and also my home state WA (4.44% AA population.) So according to you, Hillary can't win WA or VT because she lost them in the primaries. Good detective work.

Funny you should mention "corporate masters", search "DLC" sometime. They are the CORPORATE wing of the Democratic Party. If anyone doesn't care about the working class, it's them. BTW, Hillary is a chair there.

Hillary will win liberal enclaves, however grudgingly, her opponent won't win the huge white suburbs from coast to coast. There's counties in Georgia no one ever heard of with more people than Vermont and he's going to lose the vast majority of them.

Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 10:05 PM by Asgaya Dihi
and the fact that your type of attitude comes from the Clinton campaign so often is a good part of why I could never vote for her. Putting a big D behind Republican tactics and policies doesn't make them Democratic.

So far in this campaign I've supported neither candidate, when the primary came through my State I didn't care for either enough to make a choice and I still have serious reservations about both. But today if that primary came through I'd make a choice, for Obama. It wasn't anything he did that decided that, it was what she did and the way she's handled this campaign. The truest comment made about it in months was that she's running as if Obama is the dem and she's the repub.

And BTW, I don't think I've ever had a glass of Chardonnay in my life and don't listen to any radio, NPR or not. Worked construction from carpentry and roofing to welding until the injuries caught up with me and these days I just try to get by. So stuff that attitude, you sound too much like the other side. They liked to tell us who we are instead of asking too.

Bill gave us the media consolidation bill which is responsible for that coverage we all love to complain about, presided over a growing prison system and growing racial imbalances which left us the most imprisoned nation in the world in terms of our own people, gutted welfare without guaranteeing anything to replace it and overall was one of the more conservative Presidents we've had in ages. If that's your idea of the real Democratic party, we have different ideas on where we should be going I'd guess. The party I'm looking for hasn't been seen much since the civil rights days, the loss of them has a lot to do with why we're in this shape today. Too many sell-outs and corporate dems, too few real ones.

66. Yep. Then we sold out.
We have a big problem in this nation and we've had it for ages, we just don't like to talk about it. The largest group of potential voters out there doesn't show up most elections for either party, they don't think anyone cares. More and more over the last 30 years or so they've been right.

I read a recent article which touches on some of the changes in the courts and the types of judges we've been appointing, under both parties. It's a bit long but a decent peek into that aspect of our failure. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/16/magazine/16supreme-t.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print

We see the same thing in the drug war. We started to lose elections and became the second place party on an increasingly consistent basis about the same time as we jumped into the drug war. Coincidence? Nope. Almost one young black man in eight is behind bars right this moment, today. http://www.prisonsucks.com/

More are in probation or on parole and with some States barring them from voting for years or even life. That not only drives millions of disenfranchised voters from our party but while in custody the voting power that population represents is shifted to the towns of their mostly conservative jailers and stripped from the homes they came from, will be released to, and where their families still live. Nice system, huh? http://www.prisonersofthecensus.org/

Or you could take the time to read a book about the financial system we've built this nations wealth on and that we've been supporting all too often with our military, look up "The Shock Doctrine" in your local library.

In domestic surveillance, in the drug war, in backing and appointing Supreme Court judges who are friendly to this type of thing and place business concerns over civil concerns, and on many other issues we've been on a bad path for ages now and more and more people are just dropping out of the system. The way out is so simple, but so hard to actually do.

Stand for something. Yeah, we'll probably get our ass kicked in that election but if we're right, and we are, things will go to hell fast just like they did this time when the repubs got too much power. If instead of buying into it and becoming a part of the problem we stand against it we're the obvious choice for change, the only choice. Our problem is actually standing up and convincing those who have quit that we can stand for something. We haven't given them much reason to believe we'll fight yet, not for them, and not for decades. It's just more of the same because THIS is obviously worked so well over the last few decades, huh?

26. Is there any way I can get a pound of whatever it is you're smoking?
WTF!? You sound like you can read the minds of the Clintons and predict the future. Do me a favor and see if you can tell me who is going to be in the Final 4.

35. The best part of this thread
is looking down the list of responses and seeing Ignored, Ignored, Ignored, Ignored, Ignored. So much worthless horseshit that I don't have to wade through.

62. How many of these threads do we need?
Clinton is not going to drop out, and you posting this on a message board is not going to make her drop out. All this does is get the Clinton supporters pissed off and build ill will. We need these people to vote for Obama in November, and would like their help now defending Obama against the character assassination he is facing from the media. So stop posting threads calling for Clinton to drop out, and instead help defend Obama here and on other message boards.

These calls of unity from Obama supporters are hallow, you guys didn't give a damn about the Democratic chances when it look like Hillary was gaining some ground against Obama. All I heard and read from Obama supporters were we're going to stay home or we're voting third party. Now when it looks like you're getting your way, the tone is come on guys let's get united. In normal circumstances Angie I would tell you and your fellow Obama supporters where to go with this sort of new found "unity" but facing the idea of having four more years of Bush policies in work, has left me few options in November.

So if Obama wins the nod, I ignored the months of recycle right wing slime you used against my candidate of choice,I ignored the threats of leaving the Democratic party high and dry because having President Barack Obama is light years better than saying President John McCain. But Angie if your guy lose there are no excuses and you followers can't point fingers at anyone if he loses it's on him and his supporters.
