Capacity crowds of thousands to see someone so damaged, in such a freefall?? Hmmmm. Don't think so. The Wright/race things has been just another corporate biased media creation. The people want to hear about the OTHER pressing issues, and on race they're interested in how to heal and overcome the divisions. Obama = standing room only !!

People were in line at 5, 5:30 - doors opened at 7 and he took the stage at 9:30 pm. Lots of people in line by 10:30 am.

Why? We've been trying to get rid of these fuckheads for longer than most.

14. In Portland people were lined up here since midnight last night for a 9:30 am rally
In Eugene they were there as early as 5:00 am for a 9:00 pm rally, Salem was also packed. All venues were filled beyond capacity, here in Portland last night people were selling tickets for $100 a pop on craigslist, not right I know but it sure is telling.

In Portland his rally was at the Memorial Coliseum which has a capacity of 13,000 all of which were snatched up within hours, outside there were hundreds if not thousands who were unable to get in and just waited outside for a peak.

Bottom line, rock concerts don't normally do this well here.

8. Obama has not been hurt in the primary because of Wright. He's only been hurt in the GE
According to polls, where he led McCain comfortably until Wright's video was released.
In the primaries, it doesn't matter anyway because Clinton has no chance to catch up.

57. And Medford is
predominately white, conservative and ah...backwards. Cali has had an impact on the area but....

The reasons behind Oregons' Liberalism stems from the Exodus of Hippies that left Cali in the late 1960's, they moved up, bought land and yes, eventually took over cities like Eugene politically.
Except for a few 'nanny state type laws', they have done ok.

23. I have to admit that Obama has never impressed me.
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 12:41 AM by liberalmuse
I am so into feminism that I would love to see a female President. I've never been so torn in my life. I was for Kucinich, because he stands for exactly what I stand for. Then I was for Edwards, because he really is the next best thing to Kucinich. I have completely overlooked Barack Obama in the past. I did so because of his Senate votes. They pretty much match Hillary Clinton's votes. Besides, I grew up in the Mormon church, been here, done that. As a result, flowery speeches mean absolutely nothing to me. I have been very impressed with this man recently, and I am impressed at how he has been running his campaign. Don't get me wrong. If Hillary Clinton gets the nomination, I will vote for her, hands down, but I now want Barack Obama as my President. In taking a second, even third, fourth and fifth look at this man, I realize he is something special and I would LOVE for him to be our next President.

Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 01:41 AM by pettypace
Just saw the replay of Barack's Portland speech, and it concluded with the Brooks and Dunn Only in America tune playing during his handshaking....this is the same music President Bush utilized in 2004.

Interesting he's using this after Pastorgate.
