****BREAKING: Bill Richardson DEFIES Obama Camp Request!****
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 06:17 AM by LulaMay
Morning News Dispatch

March 22, 2008

New Mexico:

Governor Bill Richardson refused early yesterday to abide the call by the Obama campaign for super delegates to pledge their votes in accordance with the wishes of the voters they represent.

Richardson, who represents the people of New Mexico, rejected that idea in a surprising move and pledged his support to Senator Obama rather than Senator Clinton, who was chosen by voters in his state.

The Obama camp accepted Richardson's support after issuing a statement that it was a special circumstance which would be honored just this one time. When asked about Senator Kennedy's support, the phone line went dead and the campaign has not returned reporters calls.

Asked to comment on his surprising decision, Richardson had no explanation other than expressing a desire to leave New Mexico and move to Washington DC, where he said the grass was greener and the Rose Garden had no cactus or sagebrush, which he'd "grown tired of" scratching his legs and cluttering up the backyard of his Albuquerque ranch style home. He said he would also like to live in a big place where he could order anything he wanted to eat at any hour.

11. Well, since Obama simply folllows Hilary's lead on healthcare, the economy,
and pretty much every other issue, would you expect anything less from his supporters if their God can't even be original???

33. Satire needs an ironic connection with the truth. This was just dumb
The fact is that it is virtually impossible for Clinton to end up with a majority by any measure, so Richardson is doing exactly what you tried to lampoon him for. Obama is in fact the choice of the majority, and that is exactly why Richardson supports him.

34. That is all subject to perception.
If every one held Richardson
and his opinion in such high
regard, he would still be in
the race himself.

its subject line has a minimum of ten asterisks and at least half the letters are in caps.

20. Hillary should THANK Richardson for what he did
Richardson supported Obama despite the fact that New Mexico voted for Hillary.

This is exactly the kind of behavior--voting against the will of your state/district/nation--which Hillary must depend on in order to "win" the nomination.

So Hillary supporters: let's hear the praise for Richardson, and you'd better hope that more people follow his example.

22. WOW...and more
In a side note Queen Hillary I has given a decree ordering a halt to all present and future blight purges in the run-a-way province. Sources and witnesses on the ground tell the Noecon Cronicles the Queen was spotted preparing a writ that makes all future elections null and void unless her name is the only one on the ballot. The Queen has in the past spoke of closing the massive seaports at Alba and Kirkie and hinted of excise taxes of Santa Faye corn. Sources at the MyTurn Register Press have reported noticing activity in the ports one can only assume were ships off-loading gilo-teens with fresh blades, racks and stretching machines.

Asked for a comment by reporters at Leiberman/McCain Govt. Press the Queen stuck her tongue out, put fingers in her ears and walked away raising the bridge across the mote into her 21st Century castle.

This is a fluid and on-going story...updates as things change on the ground.

Not surprising.

Bill Clinton made Bill Richardson.
So it is very easy to see how this can be seen as a "betrayal"

29. Since state delegates are proportional, why shouldn't the SDs be?
IIRC, Obama nearly tied Clinton in NM. So why shouldn't up to half the SDs there be able to pick Obama?
