Clinton Campaign Balance IN THE RED!
By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer Fri Mar 21, 6:10 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lived hand to mouth during the rush of presidential primaries while Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama outspent her and put money in the bank.

New Federal Election Commission reports show Obama raised at a clip of nearly $2 million a day in February, an open spigot of money that left him with $30 million in the bank for March.

Clinton had her best fundraising month as well, at $34.5 million. But counting her debts to vendors she ended with a net $3 million. And that's not factoring the $5 million she lent her campaign and has not paid back.

1. For quite a lot less money she could have hired far better advisors.
There are savvy college kids who could have helped her more than Penn and McAuliffe and who would have worked for a lot less.

5. Out of money and out of steam!
if her Swiftboating had worked she should have been well ahead in the polls probably 10 to 20% out in front, but she isn't. She is just clinging on.
Clinton and Obama are virtually even in the national polls with a slight up or down shift.

12. Exactly
Her strategy (and those implementing it) were wrong from the beginning. I've heard many people complain about Obama, take potshots at his supporters both on here and other sites. When it comes down to it, three things are different: the message, the delivery and the tone of the campaign.

Hillary Clinton's campaign was suppose to be the well oiled, well funded machine of this campaign season. Around Thanksgiving everyone was pretty much annointing her as the Democratic nominee.

I've said this a number of times, I hope someone writes a book about this campaign season. There could be a very interesting contrast done between the several of the different campaigns in terms what was done. If the could write it on McCain, Clinton and Obama that would be great. Maybe even put Romney and/or Huckabee in there for good measure so there are a few Republicans to compare.

a broke candidate will need a lot of financial "help"..a flush candidate can help OTHER candidates, like he has aready done to take Hastert's seat away..

Maybe HRC can sell those fifteen thousand snow shovels on e-bay..:) and pay part of the HEALTH CARE COVERAGE for her own people :)

21. You...have...got...to be...F-ING kidding me!
15,000 snow shovels? Do they think they were going to push themselves even in the event of snow. Maybe she had 15,000 snow shovelers lined up, but clearly if she had that kind of organizational ability, the nomination would be over already. This has got to be one of the most absurd campaign expenditures in history. Maybe they were hoping to successfully use 500-1,000 of them in a snowstorm and then launch a PR campaign about the purchase of 15,000 shovels and how smart it was because helped voters safely get to the caucuses.

15. I expect this to be spun as "proof" that she is more qualified to manage our government spending
How can you be expected to be able to operate a government that's in the red if you can't run a campaign that way?

23. Well she does have one huge advantage
All of the networks as well as the cable news shows are giving her free propaganda so she doesn't need to buy TV time.
