Two wrongs won't make a right--I'm glad MI is off the table.
Back in January, Hillary said our votes did not matter. I knew not to trust her, figured her campaign would gloat about a "victory,"and rushed to vote uncommitted. And I was right not to trust her as her words changed in the political winds of February. Other good democrats who BELIEVED her--decided to have some fun and vote in the Republican contest.

So we had an illegit primary that would not count. Then Hillary decided she wanted a revote out of political necessity. But what the Clintonites failed to mention, was that the good democrats who voted in the republican primary would be denied the chance to vote again. So that new primary would be just as fair and legitimate as the first one.

Granholm, Stabenow and Levin who sought to grease the skids for Hillary knew the DNC rules. They knew the price, even as the dragged some of the more reluctant members of the Michigan democratic party to embrace their scheming.. And I am glad they failed--because a revote would have disenfranchised the democratic voters who sought to have a little fun in the republican primary. Two illegit primaries would not have made a fair vote.

And most Michiganders will not take this personally--we're not that stupid. We've lost jobs, homes, and embraced financial disaster in the past few years. We've gone from well paying jobs with benefits to "Welcome to Walmart." The service sector grows, while real decent jobs are elusive like crumbs tossed to hungry scavengers.

Since the primary follies I have watched and cheered as throngs of other Americans have made my voice heard. The page is being turned and the conclusion is at hand, even as Bill and Hillary sit in their campaign bunker imagining pyhrric symbolic victories she might win, and a final victory in her dreams with troops and tools she will never have.

When this is over. Barack Obama will come to Michigan. A lot of us are waiting to join the new battle. We haven't had a piece of the action yet, but it's ok, we don't take it personally. But in the end we'll be there for him. We're just waiting...

3. Shame on Granholm for not requiring ALL on or all OFF
by leaving HRC's name , many of us "knew" the drill.. With a wink-wink-nod-nod, she pretended to not care, but we knew better.. to a Clinton, it doesn't matter how it "looks"..it only matters if you can somehow twist an ambarrassing loss into a "win"..

Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 12:02 PM by durrrty libby
his nomination will be illegitimate and a farce

He looks small and scared in disenfranchising them

He obviously does not believe in democracy

13. Counting all the votes=letting all the voters vote...
The Clinton talking points on MI have been disengenuous from DAY ONE.

8. This is Florida and Michigan's doing, not Obama's.
They were warned, REPEATEDLY, what would come if they moved forward with their plans to interfere with the DNC schedule. They did so anyway. While I am deeply disappointed that Michigan and Florida will not have a chance to have their voices heard in a fair way, the ultimate blame for this rests with their own representatives.

12. If by silly excuses, you mean "rules" then yes.
If someone tells you something is hot and you grab it and get burned, how can you expect anyone to feel sorry for you.

They wanted to have more impact so they disregarded the warnings; now they have no impact at all. It sucks, yes. But they made a choice.
