It is NOT a liberal stronghold. It is as conservative and as redneck and right wing as anyplace else you can imagine. Sure, Ashland is in Southern Oregon, but so are White City, Grants Pass, Ruch and Central Point - believe me, latte's and Birkenstocks are not the order of the day in that neck of the woods.
