I mean there's no other reason that he'd get it. It can't be that he's gotten more votes, more pledged delegates and more super delegates. It must be divine intervention.

It's not as miserable here in Scotland, but it's pretty miserable and I sympathise. I haven't been out all day. I'm fed up of being cold.

29. of course it was Clinton supporters or Obama detractors.
People always vote the outrageous choices on these polls just to stir the pot. No Obama supporter is going to vote "yes".

34. Well, some PEOPLE have voted yes.

We don't really know who they are. But that doesn't much matter, the vast majority have said no, revealing that the so-called "cultish" nature of Obama's popularity is at least not related, on this board, to any perception of his importance as a religious figure. There may be other ways Obama supporters (I am not one) could be accused of being over-enthusiastic, but they do not appear, from this poll, to think he actually IS the Second Coming. Which reassures me, as some of them look to me like they're going a bit peculiar.

poll?

Maybe some people believe God has a hand in everything?

32. Well *I'm* anti-Christian, not being one anymore, but a poll is a poll, I can't control the results

That being the case, whether or not the poll is anti-Christian or casts Christians in some kind of bad light isn't really up to me. Even if loads of people had said "Yes,", (which I didn't expect at all, and would have found disturbing) it's purpose is to reveal information, not insert it. What the *meaning* of all those yesses would be is obviously to be debated afterwards.

However, most people have said no, which is interesting. Isn't it?

22. Yes
as was Bush, Clinton, etc. It doesn't mean that God has any particular vested interest or that that person is a prophet. I just think everything happens for a reason.

45. Probably never. I think it's something we're just going to have to live with.

I think it's pretty silly, too, but we are so very outnumbered.

I'm grateful that I live in a nice, secular, sensible country that keeps religion out of politics. Scotland will never again be won over be religious rhetoric, it's been through too much.

However, I cant help but grind my teeth at the opportunities wasted by the States in terms of stem cell research, the environment, gay rights, all because of right wing Christianity. I just hope that the left wing version is less harmful...
