When it comes to voting for a war that results in 4000 of our brave soilders killed. Obama is not experienced. When it comes down to supporting NAFTA a trade agreement that cost millions of Americans their jobs. Obama is not experienced. When it comes to supporting Kyl-Lieberman. Obama is not experienced. When it comes to running nasty campaign that threatens to tear the Democratic party in half. Obama is not experienced. When it comes to praising a Republican canidate at the expense of a fellow Democrat. Obama is not experienced. When it comes to staying quiet while a fellow Democrat is getting smeared by the media and joining in on that smearing. Obama is not experienced. Hillary believes that her and McCain lifetime of experience is what this country needs. That could be far from the truth. My lifetime of experience, be it only 25 years total, tells me that Clinton or McCain will be more of the same. This is a time for good judgement not experience. Clinton and McCain has shown bad judgement during their years of senatorial experience.

8. Governing the United States is so complex |
|
that I don't think there's a single person in the country who has intimate knowledge in all fields, foreign relations, labor, economics, law, or the myriad other things a President has to deal with. We wouldn't even want a President who over-manages and gets involved in every detail of the decision-making process. The best we can hope for is someone who has the good sense to surround himself with the right experts to handle this complex world, to listen to the options they present to him, and to make sound decisions based on that information. Bush had no experience, but he could have been a good President if he'd listened to dissenting voices around him and made the right decisions. In his case, he chose 'yes' men and did the very opposite of what he should have done, because of his extreme ideology and his belief that everything must have a political pay-off. With anyone we elect, we're taking a gamble hoping that they will do the right thing and we have to look at their values as the main indicator of what they will do.

9. I don't think either one of them can get us through this mess we are in... |
|
"Hope for Change" I voted for Carter and Clinton twice in "Hope for Change." I would like to believe Obama's Promises but think I'll get caught back up in Carter/Clinton.
I'm very depressed about this election as opposed to the '04.
I think there are folks "grasping at straws" like I and others were going for Carter...and when Clinton offered HOPE as the "Man from Hope Arkansas" I was so thrilled we'd finally have someone who knew Carter's mistakes but he and his wife were fresh out of "finding a way forward for Dem Party with DLC...but alas..they were more like Reagan wanting to PRIVATIZE EVERYTHING!
I don't think either candidate will do anything more than the VICHY Dems like Pelosi and Reid did once we worked to try to get more Dems in Congress. It's the same old same old. Dems love to PUSH NEW...like OBAMA but in the end...they are hollow...they cave and give in.
Good Luck...!

12. My little quote on experience: |
|
In changing times (which realistically is anytime at all) experience often provides nothing but dated and useless frames of reference.
For better or worse, everything is different now (energy, climate, economy - no need to write a book). Most people don't know it yet, and people with worldviews and response sets fixed by experience will have, realistically, few effective tools to manage. If I looked at the primaries on both sides from this perspective Obama has the clear advantage, and the best shot at leading this country out of a historic dead end.
