FLOG, Could Dems STOP BOOSTING MCCAIN w accolades re bravery, sacrifice, patriotism
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 05:40 PM by Sensitivity
For the love of God, John McCains positive numbers are going through the roof with all the Dem praise!!! He already has the former Dem V.P. candidate holding his hand in every photo-op!!!

This is directly related to the countless times that Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and even Obama are broadcast praising this feeble old guy who many voters do not know from gramps in the retirement home. Better to say nothing! When your enemy praises you, it is the best praise you can get -- and the MSM just loves cycling this stuff, especially when it involves a slam against another Dem!

24. I doubt that after our nominee is picked that it's going to stay down, however I agree
the infighting has to stop.

There are freepers on both sides working hard at dividing us,, so I'm ignoring anyone I see freeping.

5. Please don't use ageism to criticize McCain.
That "ism" is just as bad as either racism or sexism, and it seems to be really rampant at DU. We have plenty of ammunition to use against McCain such as his war mongering foreign policy, his enthusiastic support for NAFTA, and his plan to make the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy permanent, but making mocking comments about his age is not one of them.

I know that in our eagerness to see McCain lose in November it's easy to get caught up in regrettable rhetoric. I found myself calling him "Grandpa McCain" until I caught myself and realized that it's wrong to address him in that manner.

8. Agreed. Let's find alternatives. He is cranky, vengeful, out-of-touch...
has a foul temper, acts before he thinks, call names like Cheney, talks big and then betrays his former position (unprincipled)...

Not a detail guy, incurious just like W, unable to deal with a 21st century world, corrupt (Keating 5, and other lobbyists) and maybe, just maybe, a bit "dotty"...

being old ain't the half of it.
Sometimes limitations can spur creativity. works in art, as in life.

6. Neither candidate can ignore his handicap or his past bravery. To do
so and only criticize him for his Super Hawk positions would LOSE the Dem any potential military or ex-military votes. Right now, I think there are quite a few military and their relatives are at least LEANING toward the Dem because of injuries & so many repetative deployments. I don't think it's going to harm anyone to recognize some of McBush's achievements that happened 30+ years ago!

18. I believe John McCain is a good man
and a genuine American hero. And we honor his half-century of service to this nation."

Don't expect anything to be off limits in regards to McCain after the way the Rethugs smeared Kerry.

It's sickening to watch Dems. praise McCain. Almost as revolting as watching Republics praise Lieberman.

28. Obama says he "respect his service" etc, then criticizes his stance on an issue immediately
It is just showing respect before he attacks on an issue so it does not come off as a personal attack.

Unlike the Clintons who just crawl up his ass and stay there.
