The real shame of this primary election cycle.
Lots of respectable people are being caught up in the spin and are losing credibility as a result.

I always looked at MoveOn.org, Kos, Olbermann and others as being rather fair-minded in their bashing of republicans and republican ideals. Olbermann particularly had a reputation of calling out people who present half of the story by placing them in the "Worst Person in the World" hall of infamy. He wanted to be known as a journalist. Half of the Democrats and practically all of the republicans now think he is just a biased "talking head".

My previous view of them was that they were all simply telling the unvarnished truth, and as Stephen Colbert says, "The truth has a liberal bias". I no longer hold that view of them.

In this primary election cycle, I see them telling only part of the story, and only the part that benefits their choice for our nominee. They are definitely one-sided, and losing supporters who once religiously supported them.

Our media "institutions" no longer hold the mantle of "fair-mindedness" for many of us old members of their congregations. Perhaps the lure of new faces is appealing to them. But their decision comes with the cost of the high-ground that they could previously claim.

That is a shame.

2. I don't know if Keith's audience has shrunk or not, but he lost me
when he became an Obama infomercial. I don't care if he's for Obama. Not at all. But isn't there something like a tiny bit of objectivity left in him? If he hates Hillary Clinton..fine. If it were turned around and he was giving Hillary the one hour infomercial I would say the same thing. I was crazy about him and I can't watch him anymore. He's most certainly a victim of this campaign season.

It's actually quite amazing that Hillary is as close as she is ( not close enough to win, I know that ) with all the media and every Democratic blog against her. Oh, yeah, it's Republican voters that Rush sent over to vote for her. I forgot. Oh well. Thought I would say that before someone else did. I think I'm on everyone's ignore, so I can say anything I want! Ha!

4. It will depend on whether these new viewers (and voters) will remain
politically active or if they are just drawn to the excitement of the race. In my personal opinion, that after the election many will become as disinterested in the day-to-day political maneuvering as they were before the election.

6. Keith is our shining hope in the media without him no-one would keep the Dems in line.

7. But for Democrats not in the Obama camp, and that is more than half of us, we have no one.
I am not undecided. I have decided to be ambivolent. I look at both candidates about the same, but both are WAY above McCain.

But, I still value fairness. I don't see that from the current Democratic media bastions.
