Some more perspective
Everytime I see I U.S. soldier body count, this is what I think needs to be an immediate supplement to it. No disrespect whatsoever blogslut; I love your posts and always learn from what you have to say

82,249 - 89,670

http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ --- total doucmented civilian deaths due to violence.

keep in mind this (1) is a conservative count, (2) doesn't include other categories of either casualties or deaths. :(

* * * * * * * * * * * *

let's go further now.

The Iraqi Health Ministry estimates much higher:

151,000 violent deaths out of 400,000 excess deaths due to the war

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7180055.stm

* * * * * * * * * * * *

and the London-Based Opinion Research Business estimates as high as:

1,033,000 total deaths

http://www.opinion.co.uk/Newsroom_details.aspx?NewsId=78

.

Finally, some of these are outdated, as far back as July of last year.

Disgusting not just for the sheer numbers, but for the lack of any coverage of these figures whatsoever in the MSM....

1. thank you - by the way do you have the latest number on the number of suicides
by people in the service in Iraq? Also contract employee deaths? Am I correct that the total American death toll is now over 5,000?

4. I'm not aware of a running tally, but the
Iraq Coalition Casualty Count keeps meticulous documentation. You may be able to search there, with links:
