1. Actually, the issue did come up quite often, as I recall.
But as far as I'm concerned, the amount of experience as an elected federal official a candidate has shouldn't be the deciding factor. Dick Cheney had years and years of it; Abe Lincoln had very little.

2. I questioned his experience.
But more than that, I questioned his judgement.

3. But that is like three times the senate experience.
Since Edwards had 3 years in the Senate before he started running for president and Obama had one. You don't get a lot of experience when you are just flying back to vote and then hit the campaign trail again.

8. IL Senate doesn't count?
He had 8 years there. If you count total legislative experience, Obama has more than Hillary.

10. I was responding to the OP.
Unfortunately for Obama and McCain, the presidency is not a legislative job.

Many voters know this, and consider Hillary's WH and Governor's mansion experiences as being more germane to the job of President than legislative experience. However, she has both.

I am not supporting her, but left with the two choices, I would say that if she didn't have the executive branch experience under her belt I wouldn't consider her on par with Obama at this moment.

6. It was brought up all the time once he became a top-tier candidate
People forget he wasn't even on the radar screen until Iowa.

7. But Obama had 8 years in the Illinois Senate in addition to the years in the US Senate
He has MORE total years of experience.

11. He had zero years of public service experience before coming to the Senate
And in the Senate, he served neither on the foreign relations or armed services committee: zilch experience in that area. No, I don't believe anyone questioned that very much back then, at least after he got the VP spot ... one of Kerry's biggest mistakes.

At any rate, that's all water under the bridge. And it's not all that relevant anymore.

13. the question isn't..
The question isn't whether John Edwards experience was questioned 4 years ago, the question is, did John Kerry question it in the primaries.
