I really thought we had a great shot at winning the POTUS......... But now |
|
the party is so bitterly divided that I don't think either candidate can win. I never foresaw this, I thought this was our best for sure shot since Ford.(For those old enough you know what I mean :))
In 2004 this whole forum was as one behind JK, even if he was not every-ones perfect candidate. I don't see DU coming together this time.

|
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 09:17 AM by stellanoir
that could transpire over the next 7 months.
In 2004 sure there was plenty of acrimony between the supporters of the various candidates.
Yet Kerry was the presumptive nominee from Iowa on so it was a really different sort of contest.
I'm still hoping for the best and feel it's throughly possible.

him if he wins the nomination...the real problem is a few months ago several of my republican friends considered voting for Obama now they say no way. We can still win it just won't be a slam dunk who ever the nominee will be.

So very much will happen before November. Take heart and work for our party. We will have a candidate and when that day comes, that candidate will have survived one hell of a trial by fire.

|
And the scuttlebut I have gotten whether it is true or not is that the RNC is looking into a VP candidate like Colin Powell or someone of his leadership as well as his ethnicity. Colin Powell is looked upon as a great leader among the GOP's and he will counter Obama's support somewhat as well. I have to keep up with what I hear from McCain and his camp as much as I can because you can't ignore your opposition. Now don't make fun of me because I said Colin Powell but just hide and watch and see what happens in a few months.

Such is politics. Just about the time we think a candidate's doomed, they have a habit of becoming reinvigorated.

if H wins the AA for the most part (55%) will not support or vote for her
if O wins over 25% of the white dems will not support or vote for him he has also lost 18% of the support from indies
Yes this historical election will put McCain in the White House
For a 'given' election the dems have clutched defeat from the jaws of victory, and have no one to blame but themselves

Hillary can beat McCain IMHO. Barack will be wiped out. He'll get no more than 30-35% of the white vote. Sad but true. Look at what's happening to him in Pennsylvania. He's polling in Penn as if Penn was Mississippi. Also. with the party stiff arming Florida and Michigan, partly because of Obama's foot-dragging, we can kiss both goodbye. We're going to be wiped out in the South. If we can't carry the industrial midwest -- whcih I don't think Obama can, now, except for Illinois. And we aren't competitive in Florida, we're talking a repeat of Dukakis.

Bushco still has time to do more serious damage and I hope people will see McSame as being as disastrous as we all think he is. I keep pounding on SCOTUS, the war and how republicans screw up the economy. I also keep telling people the MSM wants to keep the democrats divided and we need to show they the are FOS. The so-called pundits are going to keep pounding on the division until they get everyone convinced. My hope is the real world is not like political message boards and bloggers and those of us passionate about politics need to watch what comes out of our mouths and keyboards. I will vote for the nominee in November. This country can't take another republican regime.
