WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The CEO of a company whose employee is accused of improperly looking at the passport files of presidential candidates is a consultant to the Barack Obama campaign, a source said Saturday. John O. Brennan, president and CEO of the Analysis Corp., advises the Illinois Democrat on foreign policy and intelligence issues, the source said.

Brennan briefed the media on behalf of the campaign this month. The executive is a former senior CIA official and former interim director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He contributed $2,300 to the Obama campaign in January. When asked about the contribution, a State Department official told CNN's Zain Verjee, "We ethically awarded contracts. Political affiliation is not one of the factors that we check."

On Friday, the department revealed that Obama's passport file was improperly accessed three times this year, and the security of passport files of the two other major presidential candidates -- Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican John McCain -- had also been breached.

Seriously, of all the desperate things I've seen here these past few weeks, that theory is the most over the top, irrational and monumentally illogical of them all.

I watched the video the other day and laughed my ass of at how some were trying to imply that the 'quote' somehow undid the controversial part afterwards. That's absurd! The quote was just used as a segway into his OWN feelings, hiw OWN words, his OWN passion and his OWN beliefs. The quote didn't even in the SLIGHTEST way affect what came afterwards. I'm literally stunned that some are so desperate to sweep this under the rug and so desperate to find any possible 'Gotcha!' that they'd actually have such a skewed perception to think that the quote from the ambassador changed ANYTHING. Seriously, it's laughable. Highly laughable.

The Reverend said what he said and did so on his own merits and with his own beliefs. To try and assert that because he led into his rant with the quote of the ambassador, even though the rant itself was personal and his own, that what followed is less controversial somehow, is monumentally ignorant. It just really is. I don't believe some here are still using that as defense somehow. It's beyond silly and embarrassing to do so.

And if you want to argue the point, then I'd just LOVE to see you explain just how some completely irrelevant quote from the ambassador that was used merely as a lead in, in any way shape or form makes the Reverend's words and beliefs any less genuine as it relates to the controversy. Can you explain just how it does that? Can you explain why the fact the ambassador said that makes what the Reverend said any less genuine as it relates to his beliefs or any less controversial as it relates to what he said in his OWN words? I'd LOVE to see how you explain that away and how in the world your logic comes up with the "Nothin to see here folks!" perception. Seriously, it's laughable. But I really would love to see you explain just why that clip does anything whatsoever to overcome what was said. Can you do so, or can you only say "cause it does!"? I look forward to seeing your defense of such an over the top silly concept.
