US Elections are a farce, designed for the rich and powerful to win - no-one else. |
|
. . .
Look at what is happening now
The Republicans(PNACers) have their quasi-delegate selected.
The Democrats are fighting among EACH OTHER
PNACers will decide who they want to win, and scrounge up dirt on who they want to lose.
Democrats do not have a "left" candidate in the running
Slightly left of Bush and Gang, but very much in the "right" quadrant.
And campaigning for almost A WHOLE YEAR?
Well, not much wonder the war gang keeps winning
People are so fed up they either don't vote,
Or vote AGAINST the candidate they preferred
PNAC Gang wins again
And look at the millions spent just on campaigning
The homeless are aghast
I really don't expect much better from the USA even if Barack Obama does win -
But get him in there anyways
And surprise me!

1. Thank-you and thank-you to those Canadians who burned the White House |

back during the War of 1812.
We really appreciate your insightful contributions to our politics.
They've made a huge difference to our nation, by for example helping give us the conflict that pushed us into accepting a esoteric drinking tune as our national anthem.
We hope all Candadians' contributions to our politics will continue to be so dead on useful.

2. "Canada" didn't exist as a country in 1812 - the British burnt your white house. |
|
. . .
And many of our native people kept the US forces out, they would have been the real "Canadians"
And never mind whether or not my thoughts are "insightful" although I do detect some sarcasm in your response.
What the USA does, through its voters, affect me directly.
So I'll share my thoughts where I feel like it.
If I can change ONE mind,
I've done something.

5. Criticizing and insulting are not synonymous. |
|
. . .
And your electoral system DOES suck.
If you wish to denigrate my observations of the USA's political system and possibly change my views,
offer some input.
I read a lot - I have nobody on ignore, and mostly do not respond to those that irritate me.
But shame on me, I have learned things in over 5 decades that I think are worth sharing,
And by no stretch of the imagination do I expect all to agree with me.
But share I will,
for those who listen.

7. It's simply a matter of propriety. Insults aren't criticism. |

Despite, or perhaps because of your 5 decades you choose to be impertinent and disrespectful. Telling us our electoral system sucks isn't useful criticism, it's simply an insult from the outside. It's our system not yours.
Alternative views can be helpful. Some such views may provide insights otherwise not considered. Telling us we SUCK isn't novel or insightful. We tell each other that all the time. But, then, it is our system and it is OUR struggle to change it to meet OUR expectations and desires.

6. Sorry, but it's really a matter of propriety. |
|
I'm hardly suggesting we are perfect. Simply put, it is a matter of propriety it's wrong to fuck around criticizing another nation's politics. Its as unwelcome as any comment an American would make about Canadians inability to resolve their Franco-Anglo disharmony.
My choice at present is Obama, just as the OP seems to suggest his choice would be.
Nonetheless, this is my nation, this is my party's system. As imperfect as it is, and it is imperfect, it doesn't need to be insulted with online cheapshots by someone claiming loyalties to another country.

8. "it's wrong to fuck around criticizing another nation's politics" - bomb them into oblivion is OK? |
|
. . .
without your precious electoral system
Bombing innocents all over the globe would not be happening.
No cheap-shot
Facts.
You don't like it?
Put me on ignore
Just like many in the USA are doing to the genocide being administered by their leaders
They just ignore it,
while dozens die daily at the hands of the USAmerican War-Machine.
"it's really a matter of propriety"
YUP
y'all OWN the death and destruction of your government,
well -
if you really still think you are a democracy.

Take another.
Maybe count to 100.
You are about to make some really inappropriate charges against the very people who were, are, and will be involved in trying to move the United States policy away from these things.

10. 98 .. 99 .. 100 - Lots of others read, and quote DU |
|
. . .
And I think most of the readers here realize I don't blame DU for what the Bush Administration has done.
As for predicting what I may or may not say
That's outrageous.
