Obama tied to another racist, homophobe who is supposedly an Obama superdelegate
Prepare to duck your head in the sand...

Again, as expected, Obama "denounces" Meeks but there is a pattern here (McClurkin, Wright, Meeks, and so on). These characters, along with Farrakhan, are all gravitating to Obama. Will Obama reject his support as a superdelegate?

-snip-

And now Fox’s ire-inducing Sean Hannity & Alan Colmes have turned their attention to another Obama “spiritual counselor,” Reverend James Meeks, a state Senator who spends his free time blasting the bent boys and girls. Obama’s camp already denounced the remarks, saying:

-snip-

Meeks, who’s closely associated with anti-gay groups like Americans for Truth and Focus On The Family, told a reporter during his 2006 gubernatorial run that he’s the perfect candidate for conservative white voters: “Theologically, politically, for the white conservative voter, I’m their guy. I have their philosophy.” That philosophy became his common call during that year, when he was swiftly defeated:

-snip-

There’s a fundamental difference between blacks and whites… We would leave a meeting like that and a black person would say, ‘Let’s do something.’ White people leave a meeting saying, ‘Let’s plan something.’ That’s what they want to do. White people want to plan something.

Meanwhile, like Wright, Meeks has come under fire for using the pulpit to dispense racialized opinions, even referring to mayors as “slave masters” and some unnamed politicians as “house niggers, comments for which he’s since apologized. Here’s the video of that report:

3. And Clinton can't be tied to anything as politically explosive as racism against 75% of voters
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 07:37 PM by jackson_dem
Obama should have rejected Wright 20 years ago and never should have crawled into political bed with Meeks, not to mention Donnie. It is funny how some buy his "unity" rhetoric. No true uniter gives a bigot thirty minutes to spew hate at a campaign event.

time to learn, but after all this dust up, with his feelings on this country, his feelings toward white people, he doesn't deserve to be a senator and should resign his position.

Yes that's what Obama does, he hides his head in the sand, he certainly flubbed the response to Wright...

Oh wait, it's his "supporters" who are hiding their heads in the sand. Well, then it's a good thing they aren't running for office. Whew, you had me worried there...

angry racist rant! He just endorsed Obama. I am beginning to wonder, Just how transending is Obama?

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) "has been linked to another controversial pastor, this time a declared spiritual adviser who has called white American mayors 'slave masters,' and referred to black preachers and politicians who 'protect' the 'white man' as 'house n-ggers'," Aaron Klein wrote March 23, 2008, for WorldNetDaily.

Meeks is pastor of Chicago's 20,000-member Salem Baptist Church; an Illinois Senator and superdelegate "pledged to Obama"; "has served as an executive vice president for Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH organization"; and "has reportedly campaigned for Obama and allowed Obama to campaign at his church" in May 2006, as well as "during the presidential candidate's 2004 senatorial run". A "recent Meeks endorsement of Obama is touted on the presidential candidate's campaign website," Klein wrote.

In an August 2006 sermon originally broadcast on "a Chicago community television channel," that was broadcast March 20, 2008, by Fox News Channel's Hannity and Colmes," the Rev. Meeks said "We don't have slave masters, we got mayors."

Continued Meeks in the sermon: "But they are still the same white people who are presiding over systems where black people are not able to be educated. You got some preachers that are house n-ggers. You got some elected officials that are house n-ggers. Rather than them try and break this up, they're gonna fight you to protect that white man."

Meeks at the time was lashing out at Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley over public-school funding issues.

With regard to his use of foul language, Meeks stated: "The N-word is not in the African-American community a bad word. It's a term of endearment. And I don't see it as derogatory or defensive, offensive."

According to reports, shortly after his 2006 tirade, Meeks endorsed a Rainbow/PUSH call for blacks to stop using the N-word.

Obama's promise on DOMA isn't worth a penny. He has proven he puts political gain above gay rights. The idea that he is going to spend political capital, if he somehow manages to win, on gay rights is fantasy.

http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&q=meeks+%2B+superdelegate&btnG=Google+Search

Then again, if you punch in the Meeks implied in this post, you get a bunch of hits to disgusting RW blogs:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=ICI&q=%22James+Meeks%22%2B+superdelegate&btnG=Search

Now if you go to the SD website you see he's not a SD as you claim.
http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/superdelegate-list.html

Now, I don't blame you, as I know you just copy and pasted this from the Hillgeon.

angry racist rant!

According to reports, shortly after his 2006 tirade, Meeks endorsed a Rainbow/PUSH call for blacks to stop using the N-word

75. And you can't look at the website for yourself to determine if it's true?
Of course not. Like lemmings jumping off a cliff, you Shillbots will believe everything you're told.

30. This Meeks is bad news.
Just read the page you linked to. I followed up by going to this link that was referenced: http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?sid=410

Obama has surrounded himself with some pretty shady spiritual advisors. I guess he just turns a deaf ear to the homophobia.

39. I didn't verify that
I don't know if he is or not. I just find that Obama's calling him a spiritual counselor to be upsetting enough.

71. He's an Illinois state senator
He says all the anti-gay stuff when he's giving a sermon at his church. He even said something about "Hollywood Jews" being responsible for "Brokeback Mountain." What a piece of work!

I can't find him on a superdelegate list. He was one in 2004 apparently.

Hey, Its like Rummy says: "You don't go into a presidential campaign with the super delegates you wished you had, you go with what you got."
