Hillary "misspoke" about Bosnia FOUR TIMES!
Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters yesterday that Hillary only misspoke "on one occasion" when she told voters that she arrived in Bosnia in 1996 under sniper fire and had to run for cover after the opening ceremony was canceled because of the gunfire. That's a flat-out lie. Hillary made similar claims at least four times since last December. And what's worse, her campaign repeatedly defended the "misspoken" comments, and even sent surrogates out to defend them, claiming they were true. Rather than admitting that Hillary screwed up, and puffed up her resume, the campaign is now choosing to lie to us about facts we already know.

Last night, Joe posted the Keith Olbermann segment about Hillary's false claims. Hillary spokesman Howard Wolfson claimed the following yesterday, per Olbermann: "It's possible she misspoke." Possible? Did she also misspeak the four other times she claimed the exact same story?

- In Dubuque, Iowa in December Hillary claimed that Bosnia was too dangerous for the president and that she ran across the tarmac.

- In late February, Hillary claimed during the White House 3 am phone ad roll-out that sniper fire forced the airport ceremony inside.

- In a March 17, 2008 press conference Hillary repeated the claims.

- In her March 17, 2008 prepared remarks - PREPARED remarks, i.e., these remarks were intentional - she said the same thing.

http://www.americablog.com/2008/03/hillary-spokesman-now-says-on-one.html

MUCH MORE AT LINK including some math:

Hillary yesterday: "I say a lot of things -- millions of words a day -- so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement."

2 million words a day = 83,333 words an hour = 1388 words a minute = 23 words a second. Yes, you do say a lot of things.

5. More of a case of "A lie told often enough becomes truth", IMO.
...like "We have a strong and resilient economy" or "Iraq harbors Al-Qaeda"....

She is terrorizing herself. What's next in this terrorist war we've seen so much of? Sounds convenient for her to me to relate this.

7. My guess is she somehow got "under sniper fire" and "under the threat of sniper fire"...
mixed up in her head. And maybe some aide told her to make their tarmac short and sweet because of said threat, and in her head that stuck rather than what actually happened. Not excusing what she said, just trying to figure out why on earth she said it.

13. Clinton lied about being shot at when running from the plane to the hanger
But Obama actually lied about his not knowing about Wrights sermons. However, I see Clinton's issue more or less a fish story going away very soon, also the fact it's being reported Axelrod passed the video to the media gives the public the idea Obama's camp is playing dirty politics topped that off with Axelrod passing the Clinton/Wright photo to the NY Times another play on dirty politics. But, the Wright issue isn't going away. Many politicians believe voters have short memories and will have forgotten this issue in a few months. But, this being an issue of identity politics and anti-american rhetoric along with anti-semitic statements, this will be an issue he can't distance himself from in this election cycle.

Well, Bill really meant to say this, or this is what Hillary was really trying to say. Ye Gads, these are two of the most intelligent and politically savvy people in American politics, nothing they say is not calculated to the nth degree. I mean, did she really think no one would check?

you guys are under some delusion that only Hillary can win, but neither of them can win if large chunks of the democratic base sit this one out. That threat is wearing pretty thin, and usually comes from people who don't support this board.

There are "useful idiots", but I think you need look no further than the Clinton campaign. Your projection is duly noted.

44. Hillary has only herself to blame for her current position ...
... from triangulating for 7 years, including voting for the Iraq war and Kyl/Lieberman and support for a flag burning amendment, to running her campaign for all of 2007 as though she had the Democratic nomination wrapped-up, and then developing a campaign strategy that ignored most of the country in targeting just the "important" states and wholly reliant upon amassing early victories due to name recognition. The Feb 5th coronation came and went, and the aura of invincibility and inevitability had vanished... replaced by vindictiveness and entitlement.

31. TAYLOR MARSH said she really Blew this one.... Taylor Marsh for god's sake
Taylor Marsh: I've had a problem with the whole "experience" argument from the start. As with Obama, then you have to prove it, which hasn't been especially impressive on his behalf.

...

But Hillary Clinton trying to prove her importance during her husband's presidency overreached massively and got caught in a whopper on Bosnia that includes tape. Now to be fair, the trip wasn't completely safe from danger, but no one cares now. We remember her well received foreign policy speech from last week, which included the words shown above, with the video tape evidence circulating today that blows what she said in a major foreign policy speech to smithereens. It's a self-inflicted wound that is by no means fatal, but definitely foolish.
