When did the right wingnuts become so PC and what happend to Obama's white half? |
|
I have seen them wring their hands and get the vapors over Obama describing his Grandmother as a typical White Person.
If one defines PC as the careful use of words as to not to offend a human sub-grouping (such as race, religion, ethnicity, gender etc) then complaining that "typical White Person" is offensive would pretty much be a perfect example of political correctness. So when did all those right wing nut jobs who have whined about PC suddenly become their number one supporter?
Secondly why are people trying to take away Obama's white heritage. It seems to be he is as much white as he is black. I think there is a certain racially tinged motive to those that seek to take away the white half of his heritage. Either that, or it's a disingenuous politically motivated tactic.

1. Rev Wright de-whited obama in a secret exorcism. |
|
He cast the white out of him. Don't let this out of DU, it is a big secret. To replace the white they inserted some Hamas. That is why Obama had to toss his grammy under the bus. There is always a price to pay.

2. Right-wingers have always had their own version of "PC." You didn't know that? |
|
What's funny is that their complaints about "PC liberals" (those who supposedly go around whining about anything remotely offensive) are largely a strawman argument, whereas the "political correctness" of the right wing has resulted in real harm. Just think of the run-up to the Iraq war, when it was verboten to say anything against Bush or the coming attack, because otherwise you didn't "support the troops." If the right wing wasn't so damn PC, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess five years later.

4. I find that's the case with many of the right's arguements |

It's from the Karl Rove play book. Accuse your opposition of your own weakness or failing.

the "one drop rule" that was so prevalent in the US said that if a person had "one drop" of African blood, they were considered black. This was the premise of the musical "Showboat", which also included a discussion of inter-racial marriage, which was illegal up until ca 1960 in Virginia.

Personally, I think a person is a person, and can call themselves a member of whatever race they wish.

7. I think the one drop rule is wrong |
|
I can't help but shake the feeling that it's suggesting that black blood is a pollutant or soemthing. I don't think one's white heritage should be stripped of someone. That seems neither right nor fair.

of Native American blood claim to be Indians. Buffy St. Marie alluded to this in her song, Now That The Buffalo's Gone.
