Sleep deprivation should be come the universal excuse!
I shot somebody. I was sleep deprived.
I fucked up at work. I was sleep deprived.
I wrecked my car. I was sleep deprived.
I bombed Iran. I was sleep deprived.
My husband cheated on me. He was sleep deprived.
I forgave him. I was sleep deprived.
I nuked russia. I was sleep deprived.

the excuse really works for anything and anybody. I say next time you lie or mess up or do something stupid. Pull a Clinton and just say "I was sleep deprived!"

:sarcasm:

1. She was so sleep-deprived, she could barely read her prepared speech, which
contained a massive lie.

4. I prefer Dan White's "twinkie defence". "I was hyped up on twinkies so I had to shoot the mayor."

7. It's actually pretty awful. You can't count on the President getting enough sleep
It's pretty scary to see someone use that as an excuse running for President. Especially when Hillary kept with that incredibly false story for days.

If so, she's toast. Utterly toast.

9. From what I saw in Washington, her campaign schedule is more gruelling
She arrived here on Thursday night, and made it to her event (just scheduled that day) at about 9:00. She spoke for over an hour, and stayed around long afterwards to sign autographs and shake hands.

The next morning, Friday, she was up very early to do an interview with a local news anchor (the only one of the three candidates who accepted this offer).

She then proceeded to a Town Hall meeting with nurses in the Tacoma area for a few hours.

McCain's sole appearance was a poorly-attended fundraising breakfast in a nice hotel (kind of a meet and greet), then he was gone.

Obama's sole appearance was a big rally in Key Arena, which started at about 11:00 a.m., then he was gone.

I was astounded by the fact that she did three events to one each by the other candidates. Of course, the interview was less time consuming, but but my reckoning, she couldn't have gotten to bed before 11:30 (she didn't leave the event I was at till close to 11:00), and then was up by 6:00 a.m. for the interview.
