Hillary and her Campaign Make me Cry out loud For my Country!
Hillary Clinton wants to extinguish the "Hope" that we can become a more Perfect Union, just so that she can win an election.

please join me by kicking this thread to show solidarity that Hillary Clinton's ploy of playing on the fear and ignorance and predisposed prejudices of Americans will not allow her to become our Democratic Nominee.

I personally pledge to keep hope alive, and I will continue to Hope that we will become a more perfect Union. :patriot:

79. Monkey has no response...
Either because he/she can't find any or because he/she will not admit that the main thing Obama has done to "split the party" is dare to run at all rather than give Hillary what so many seem to think is her birthright...

To be honest, I do not know if Monkey feels that way. But I have been shocked to see several posters here try to make that argument, some even claiming that as a black man he shouldn't have run because he "split the party along racist lines. These people have NO CLUE as to what democracy is.

Welcome to the Monarchical Wing of the Democratic Party, where elections are just a formality on the way to the coronation of the "next in line"... :eyes:

Please Monkey, tell me I am wrong. I would love to hear some other (real) examples of how Obama is splitting the party.

106. OK, you're wrong.
I believe Obama's campaign has been the first and most reliable source of the interjection of race and racial-issues into the campaign. I believe they are deliberately trying to split the party's core constituencies for their own benefit. He has forced a deeper division between glbt's and african-americans with the McClurkin nonsense.

He has falsely portrayed two of the party's top leaders as racists. It is going to take a long time for the party to recover from his divisiveness.

108. Hmm... We were asking for concrete examples...
Not just what you believe, which was clear from the first post.

I see one vague example, "...the McClurkin nonsense".

Aside from that, just more opinion and restatement of opinion.

"He has falsely portrayed two of the party's top leaders as racists." Please back up the accusation that Barack Obama "falsely portrayed" anyone as a racist.

Basically what I see here is, "Tell us why you think he is bad", with the reply, "because he is bad". Seems pretty silly to me.

120. Bringing race into his campaign will not bring him more votes
If anything it has hurt his votes by hispanics. Also, stirred up the fear among some whites that he will undermine the rights of others for the African Americans benefit. So it appears that Hillary benefits by trashing Rev. Wright and talking about the black vote in certain States. That appears racist on her and Bill's part. I gotta throw in the Barack is unamerican banter from certain Hillary backers.

So why would Obama push the race issue? And who is really the devisive one? She needs to start talking business not gossip and war stories.

94. These people are obsessed and desperate
Obama and his fake unity bullshit has split the dem party right down the middle. He is wrong for us and wrong for our party. He needs to get the hell out and let us win in Nov. His power grab won't let him, he already thinks he is God. It's a shame he won't get out,but he insists on handing the presidency to McLame. It is unforgivable.NObama!

126. I can smell the cynicism from here
Get your head out of Hillary's ass. So you've given up on unity? Or it must be fake if a politician called for it? I guess the cynicism is understandable after King George's "I'm a uniter" speech.
But what has Obama done to deserve such a slap?

Just like MonkeyFunk you can't back up anything that would prove he is "wrong for our party".
And last I checked it was Hillary who was endorsing McCain, NOT Obama.

If people are astounded in the Hillary camp at just how well this 'upstart' has done against their choice, just imagine the damage this 'once in a lifetime' brilliant candidate will do against the Bush-hugging dottering old warmonger McCain, once they are one-on-one.

believe it

Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 02:32 AM by AdHocSolver
the country, with her.

The Clintons and the DLC that they seem to be allied with appear to be the "neocons" of the Democratic party. Their desperation to gain the nomination at any cost bears the markings of a wounded animal. She is splintering the party and could turn a Democratic victory in November from a sure thing into a Democratic rout.

While the early anointing of Kerry in 2004 cost the Democrats a lot of free publicity and public attention, this scorched earth campaign that Clinton is waging is destroying the credibility of the Democratic party. She can no longer win if she is the nominee. Her credibility as a leader is already undone. The continuation of this internecine conflict Clinton is waging is undermining the viability of all Democratic candidates in November.

This nonsense has got to stop soon. If it continues past Pennsylvania, all could be lost. It would be good if it were stopped even before Pennsylvania. Clinton has already lost the support of many Democrats, and lost independents and moderate Republicans. Therefore, she cannot win the general election.

You are correct. She is killing the Democratic Party.

70. I saw this possibility back in '03.
When CLinton hosted Harkins BB Q for the 9 Democratic candidates. There was concern that she would overshadow the candidates..................... BUT introducing them to the crowd, she subtely annointed John Kerry....and gee wizz, guess who the nominee turned out to be!
SHe shook hands with all the candidates ( Mosely- Braun got a cheek kiss,)
Then she grasped Kerry's hand and raised it high over their heads in a victory gesture!
A picture is worth 1,000 words, if you are paying attention!

She is definitely killing the Democratic Party with her actions. But I contend she is killing the democratic process as well. Going after pledged delegates? She no longer cares about the will of the people (if she ever did). She cares about her own gain and it looks like will stop at nothing to achieve the nomination. With every kitchen sink tactic she pulls down the Democratic Party and the chance to defeat McBush in November even more. Please Hillary for the good of the Party and country, stop already.

For those who disagree and say that Obama is doing more harm than Clinton, I challenge you to not only dis-agree, but offer proper evidence and examples of why you believe that is so. Then, put what people say about her, versus what you say about Obama side by side, and then scrutinize it. I personally am biased, but I am starting to run out of fingers and toes when it comes to the Clintons "kitchen sink" strategy.

And it's only going to get worse from them before it gets any better.

76. "Hope" and "Yes we can" isn't going to get it done.
Sorry, but Barack Obama will need more than a few good speaking skills and campaign slogans to be an effective POTUS. He simply lacks the tools and skills at this time. He's too wet behind the ears.

By inspiring and motivating, Barack is awakening the WILL of the people ~ which is more powerful than any candidate or group of politicos.

81. Obfuscation
Strange, I visited Obama's website, and saw a helluva lot more than the words "Hope" and "Yes we can". I saw evidence of a good manager as well as some well-thought-out strategies for the issues facing the nation and world. In fact, I would say that a lot of his strategies are more clearly defined than Clinton's.

You may want someone that is more experienced, and that is a valid viewpoint (with which I disagree), but you don't need to rehash right-wing talking points to make that statement, especially considering that it makes you sound like you have not studied the candidates at all. Take the time to look deeper than the TV news soundbites and you will find much more substance to Obama than "Yes we can".

a headline on yahoo that made me want to climb back in bed: "Clinton: 'Wright would not be my pastor.'"

seriously- is that all they've got? an obfuscated, bullshit, racist non-story? a non-story from weeks ago? that should have died a quick death, since there was nothing to wright's statements that any dem should be using against another dem? on top of trying to blame the FL/MI BS on him?

When I saw Hillary getting out of the chopper in Bosnia with kid in tow, shaking all those low life generals hands, it confirmed everything I already knew about her and that she was a military industrial complex shrew.

93. W-a-a-a-a-a-ah! Grow up.
If you need to rely on O.'s impossible promises for "hope" then you need help. The idea that one woman can extinguish hope idiotic. If you think O is anything more than a savy politician then you really don't know anything. He is manipulating you emotionally because he has nothing of substance to offer. And you are so needy that you eat it up.

Clinton's negative campaigning is making me lose more respect for her daily.

Oh, I'll still vote for her come November if she gets the nod. But I'm going to need a much larger clothespin.

She's still better than McCain, but it looks like she's working hard to narrow the gap.
