Mark Tomasik: Don't discount Gore-led ticket.......(pretty please???)
http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/mar/24/mark-tomasik-dont-discount-gore-led-ticket/

U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney, whose district includes much of Martin and St. Lucie counties, is hoping he won't have to attend the Democratic Party national convention in Denver in August.

If he does go, that will mean the Democrats still haven't decided a nominee for the presidential election. And if neither Sen. Hillary Clinton nor Sen. Barack Obama has clinched the nomination by August, Mahoney says we may see a brokered convention, meaning the nominee could emerge from a negotiated settlement.

"If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don't be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket," Mahoney said.

A compromise candidate could be someone such as former vice president Al Gore, Mahoney said last week during a meeting with this news organization's editorial board.

If either Clinton or Obama suggested to a deadlocked convention a ticket of Gore-Clinton or Gore-Obama, the Democratic Party would accept it, Mahoney said.

1. So after the woman and African-American dude put in all this work, the white guy will take over?
I don't think so.

3. This fantasy was supposed to end a year ago.
I wanted Gore as much as anybody, but it's really sad how long people are stringing this out.

4. And if white men had done all the work
and it was the same result? I want policies and issues that are true to the dem party. I could give a rat's ass if it's a white or black or purple person. I wouldn't care if it's a man or woman or hermaphrodite. I want someone who can win and get the job done. Neither of these two remaining dem candidates are what this country needs.

And, voting for them because it's a woman or a black man, is just plain stupid.

8. That was my thought too. Obama will likely have earned the most
delegates--I'll throw a shit-fit if they hand it to Gore.

10. Yeah, it won't work.
Who'll be the VP? If you pick Obama, you piss off women. If you pick Hillary, you piss off African-Americans.
It's a dumb idea.

11. Democrats made their bed... now lie in it
Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 08:57 PM by RestoreGore
The Democratic Party kicked Al Gore to the curb when he was HERE. Now all of a sudden he is the 'savior' because certain people don't like the choices? What selfish BS. You have two candidates whether you like them or not and frankly, I think the Democratic party DESERVES for their stupidity and playing the "game"... so now pick one and leave the man alone. If the only time you even deem to discuss him is in regards to these selfish fantasies, then you don't support him. He's too good for this shit. Enough already.

12. Amen!
That has to be one of the greatest, sanest posts about this campaign ever.

Believe me, President Gore would be my wet dream. And compared to Obama...well...I don't wanna start a flame fest, so I'll just leave it at Gore as a wet dream.

However, RestoreGore is absolutely correct. We allowed the media to trash Gore again and again when he was running. Some DU'ers even agreed with the slime that was written about him. If he HAD run, the Obama-ites would have been just as vicious towards him as they are now to Hillary.
