If the Clinton Campaign Seeks to Make Jeremiah Wright an Issue...they WILL Lose Votes!!
In a desperate attempt to deflect away from her major Bosnia gaffe, the Clinton campaign has resorted to making an issue with Jeremiah Wright (as if they NEED more attacks of being race-baiters). This is not only utterly stupid on the campaigns part, but shows you how disgracefully low they'll go to TRY to win. Last week when this issue was huge, the Clinton campaign remained silent...not wanting to hurt themselves by deflecting attention. Now that two polls have come out showing that Obama has closed within 10 points in PA (in one Ras poll) and beating her bad in NC in the PPP poll (same poll that had Obama barely winning by one last week)...and now that her Bosnia flap is running full steam in the MSM...she wants to bring Wright back into the discussion.

Well, let me tell you this...anyone who thinks this'll help Clinton in the long run is in dire need of a straight jacket. People could only attack the MSM before, and the media ignores voters anyway...but now we can attack the Clinton campaign and drive her numbers down because she's bringing this issue up again. And she thinks she's going to sway Superdelegates this way...by bringing up Jeremiah fucking Wright when she's getting bad press!!! The worse week in Obama's campaign via a swiftboat attempt? Fuck that shit...we can't let her drag the Party down with her selfish ass campaign and entitlement issues.

2. I posted this a lot last week

It is our patriotic responsibility to dissent when it is warranted.

"Check out what King said about the Vietnam War at his own Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta on Feb. 4, 1968:

"God didn't call America to engage in a senseless, unjust war. . . . And we are criminals in that war. We've committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I'm going to continue to say it. And we won't stop it because of our pride and our arrogance as a nation. But God has a way of even putting nations in their place." King then predicted this response from the Almighty: "And if you don't stop your reckless course, I'll rise up and break the backbone of your power.""

Lord knows the corporate media wouldn't expose the obvious similarities.

Dolts.

The imaginary Ipod in my cranium to which I oft refer shuffles to Dylan's "What's a sweetheart like you doing in a dump like this. . .?" Wherein he sings "Patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings. . ."

6. I agree
and if by some miracle she takes the nomination through this Wright issue and the help of super delegates, the AA turnout will not be strong enough for her to win in the GE, only thing I can think is that the Clintons want to make sure Obama loses the GE so she can run in 2012, She will only be 64, I posted an article on this yesterday.

10. FYI: This morning, CNN aired a clip of his Easter sermon.
It was beautiful. And the anchor went on to say that the Easter Sermon was more representative that the other clip.

CNN seems to have gotten enough "feedback" to back track on their attacks on Rev. Wright.

To all the DUers that emailed them Sun night / Mon morning, THANK YOU!

It's not just Hillary reigniting the Wright story. A member of Hillary's finance committee has been pushing it publicly, too, equating Wright with David Duke in a little-noticed Irish radio interview.

13. Question to Clinton: If you are so principled,
Why didn't you get up and leave during Suha Arafat's famous speech?

Not only did she sit through it, but she hugged and kissed her afterwards...

In November 1999, at a function inaugurating a new American-funded health initiative in the West Bank, Suha launched into a tirade against Israel, making unsubstantiated claims that the Israeli government was responsible for cancer rates in Palestinian areas. Then-U.S. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton (now a Senator from New York) was present at the ceremony and was sitting feet away from Arafat on the dais when the remarks were made. Unsure of how to handle the Palestinian First Lady's unexpected outburst, Clinton accepted a hug from Suha and kissed her on the cheek.

Edited on Tue Mar-25-08 05:34 PM by thecatburgler
If she manages to bring Obama down because of Wright she can kiss the African American vote goodbye and then be destroyed in the GE by a real war hero with her little fake sniper story.

I'm a military veteran and I can tell you the sniper thing is probably going around military bases like wildfire. There is nothing more loathsome to servicemembers than someone lying about something like that.

and throw the whole rest of his history, then how many people does she have around her that are also unworthy because of statements they made? see what i mean? If she is judging wright like that, then she is going to reap what she sows.

24. sorry
Obama has a 20 year relationship with Wright, and has donated over $120,000 to his church. Most Americans are put off by some of the things Wright has said.

It's perfectly legitimate for Clinton to use this - do you really think the Republicans wouldn't?

on who she considers worthy and who unworthy. obama wont walk away from him, but she will. so who else will she walk away from who has made statements she considers unworthy? See what i mean, she has set a bar now of whos in and whos out, and now all the people shes had a relationship will be judged by that bar.

26. Good in the eyes of whom exactly? Obama has done very well
since the Wright flap...people have forgiven him for it. If it looks like she's bringing this up simply to deflect attention away from Bosnia...SHE WILL LOSE VOTES because it's petty and gutter dirty!! The Superdelegates sure as hell won't like it I bet (why do you think Richardson endorsed Obama in the first place?). They already seem to be distancing themselves from her right now anyway.

34. Is that it?
Attack his supporters, the states who voted for him, the delegates who support him, the primary process itself, his next-door-neighbor, his race, wife, his church, his minister ... and back to the same again? (When none of it has stuck?) (When it just makes her look worse?)

Her op research can't come up with anything else?

Folks, it looks like Obama is exactly what he appears to be: a once in his lifetime candidate with nothing to be ashamed of in his past (or his present.) We need an extraordinary leader -- not to be an even more authoritarian commander in chief -- but to energize all us us to work together to set this country back on its feet.

Gobama.

He said THAT??????? He must be stopped - I go to Canada a lot. Think of ME for once. Sometimes I even think of going to Canada and staying there - they're such a peaceful bunch.

John McCain is doing well to stick by his beloved GW, it will almost certainly lose him an election, but we must resist the ramblings of a senile old man. Or, send him off to wage war, all by himself, so that he can feel morally non-reprehensible.

There's no money in the budget to revamp the bumperstickers - I gambled it all away. In Canada. Because maybe government doesn't matter....

and it will be effective advertising to their base. But hey, let's jump on Senator Clinton for being aware of what the future holds.

IF Senator Obama is the nominee then Pastor Wright will have lots of opportunities to go on the talk shows and give his views on America today and so will Senator Obama. Sounds like a plan.......for the GOP.

41. I Actually Think It's Deeper Than Just Snipergate
I think she's out of money and any bad press aimed at her MUST be turned into a drawn out negative story about Obama just to stay afloat and keep his numbers down long enough to figure out how to go forward. Granted, it's viewed unfavorable by some here, but it may be a signal of her campaign's last gasps which one could view as a positive (eventually).

Personally, I'm not a big Clinton fan but I don't really trash her, either. She's made her bed and eventually, wherever that bed is, she'll have to lay in it.
