Just read an article at HuffPo that stated that Harry Reid said
there are "things being done" to bring this Obama/Clinton race to an end. That's all he said, very vague but at least it's promising. It's on the front page..

1. Well that sounds menacing.
How do you take that as sounding "promising"? It sounds like behind-the-scenes arm twisting.

5. Well. unless they are planning on dividing the country
it means they are doing what they can to put Hillary's campaign to rest. I agree, it's a good thing and it's about time.

9. Why don't they put Obama's campaign to rest?
If Harry Reid and Howard Dean conspire to end Hillary's campaign, I will be beyond furious.

10. Because Obama is not the one trailing in pledged delegates and the popular vote
he is also not the one handing the election to McCain. Make no mistake, Hillary is killing the party by prolonging the inevitable and smearing Obama far worse than the republicans. Hell, McCain won't even go there with Wright.

11. No, Hillary is not "killing the party".
It's the Obama supporters who are (IMO). They simply cannot bear it that everyone doesn't fall under his spell.

There were 9 Democrats in 1992. It was a very spirited race, and there were a lot of diffences between the candidates, ranging from Jerry Brown to Tsongas.

There were 9 or so candidates in 2004, too. It was also a very spirited race, with candidates ranging from Al Sharpton to Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich.

In 1992, a nominee was not chosen until June.

13. I'm sorry you're so bitter that your candidate is losing.
Losing in popular vote, in delegates, in states won, in primaries, caucuses, money and polls.

By every measure, Hillary is losing. It's obvious who should drop out if anyone does.

15. We never had this kind of disunity before
I also never had a Howard Dean supporter tell me to "fuck off" or call me vile scum, or insist that my candidate leave the race, when I wasn't supporting Dean.

20. Seems like a mindset of "Me me me before party, country, people,
not a good way to start things off.

19. Conspiracy-Interview with Reid

Q: Do you still think the Democratic race can be resolved before the convention?

Reid: Easy.

Q: How is that?

Reid: It will be done.

Q: It just will?

Reid: Yep.

Q: Magically?

Reid: No, it will be done. I had a conversation with Governor Dean (Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean) today. Things are being done.

Somehow I think Richardson was the beginning of a long behind the scenes plan to end this...by slowly but surely taking the most prominent supers and having them endorse one a week until someone drops out graciously....I wonder who Friday brings.
