If Hillary actually loses PA, will she then drop out? |
|
With Hillary driving up her negatives, there is a slight possibility that Obama could actually win PA outright. I'm not suggesting that he will, only posing a hypothetical. So if he manages to pull off a victory in PA, do you think that Hillary will then drop out of the race at that point? I'm not asking if she should, only if you think she would.

She will have to eat all her words about "the importance of PA."

Popular vote doesn't count. Pledged delegates aren't really pledged. Superdelegates minds can be swayed. It ain't over til the fat lady sings, and that ain't happenin' until the convention.

She cannot win more states, more pledged delegates or more of the popular vote. Without breaking 60%, she won't even be able to reach something resembling parity.

stay in the race, however, I do believe at that point the majority of Superdelegates along with Edwards, Gore, et al will fall in line behind Obama to end it once and for all. At some point, the party has to step in and protect itself from Clinton's ego.

Typically swing states, and of course:
Kansas Virginia
States where Obama's polling within striking distance of McCain.
Nope, he has no chance.

35. You mean in states with a heavy Democratic establishment |
|
Clinton is entrenched in the heavily Democratic states. She has had the past 16 years to establish strong ties in all of the Democratic strongholds. She came into this race with huge advantages, especially in the blue states. She should be posting large double digit victories in all of these states. The fact that she hasn't, shows just how weak she is.

Her campaign donations dry up. As long as it is mathmatically possible for her to win and by that I mean by getting super delegates to overturn the pledge delegate leader she will fight on.

in AUGUST (what genius set that date?) to bloody the waters to the point of no return so as to fight once again in 2012 after Geezer Mcpain wins.
Once I was ambivalent about her --- now I hate her -- but will vote for her without giving money or other support -- McPain is still worse.
BUT she will LOSE - whenever she runs. Too bad, because she would be a very competent President - as long as she has a two house majority to work with.

She ran her campaign...I'm not sure about the competent part I haven't really seen any leadership over her people and the constant media leaks about the infighting..you'd think she would put a stop to that...I mean she'd seem like a Genius to Shrub but I doubt she'd get a lot done even with a majority in both houses...More like Carter on steriods.
I'd vote for her over McCain too though.

28. Stop setting up Obama supporters for disappointment if he loses PA by only 5%. |
|
Face it....that is Clinton territory. She will almost certainly WIN it. The best Obama can hope for, unless there's a miracle, is to keep her win down to single digits.
If you set up a high expectation, even if Obama loses by 5% (which would be a HUGE victory for him), then his supporters would nevertheless be disappointed.
But if everyone expects him to lose (and all indicators are that he will....as expected), then if a miracle SHOULD happen, how sweet that victory would be.
You won't catch the Clintons building up expectations. Heck, they even make a large loss sound like a victory!

I am just trying to gauge what people feel about how Clinton would act if the unthinkable were to happen. All of the speculation is predicated on Hillary winning PA. I am just trying to see the other side, as a devil's advocate.

Our great govenor here has threatened every local official reprisals if they help Obama in anyway. Fast Eddie is an old time Philly street fighter and he's flexing his muscles for HRC.
Working hard for the upset but the entire democratic machinery here is against us. Which is a shame because we are doing a lot to build the party by campaigning here. We registered alot of new voters for the democrats. Not party switches new voters.
Of course once Obama is the nominee Fast Eddie will drop everything to get hime elected. He's a good democrat that way. He's just loyal to the clintons for what they did for him when he was Mayor of Philly in the 90s.

My roomie was watching Fox News (she was, NOT me) and as I went through the livingroom I overheard part of Greta V talkling about her interview with Hillary Clinton, where Hillary told Greta she wasn't giving up and felt that she would be the nominee.
I think she and her campaign are going to use the argument of electability, and that that is the real purpose of the superdelegates.
