So glad to see this addressed.

Obama warns of 'you're on your own' society

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Presidential candidate Barack Obama, largely ignoring his Democratic rival for now, ridiculed likely Republican nominee John McCain on Wednesday for offering "not one single idea" to help hard-pressed homeowners facing foreclosure.

"George Bush called this the ownership society, but what he really meant was 'you're-on-your-own' society," Obama told a town hall meeting here, tying McCain to a president whose popularity is low. "John McCain apparently wants to continue this."

3. That is a good one. And it's vital that he make the point that a
Busch to McCain transition would be same old, same older.

7. He has been reading him some Lakoff.
It made me miss Dean and his statements that government has obligations to ordinary people, that we have obligations to each other, a government that provides for and protects its people.

9. It seems like a "new" concept.
It's been forgotten for so long.

11. Even forgotten by many Democrats
as they have catered to corporations.

10. That's essentially the McCain mantra, too. McCain figures the people
in subprime loans made their own bed . . . time to bail out Wall St. He also figures people without healthcare can figure it out on their own. His solution? More health savings accounts. Outsourcing? McCain loves it. If we allow this guy to be elected, this country won't be a place an average person can afford to live in. There are almost 2 distinct classes now - it will only get worse under McCain.
