Reuters: Clinton Takes Hit In New Poll On White House Race
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's positive rating has dropped to a new low of 37 percent in an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released on Wednesday.

According to the poll, the New York senator's positive rating slid 8 percentage points in two weeks and she had a negative rating of 48 percent in a week where she admitted making a mistake in claiming she had come under sniper fire during a 1996 trip to Bosnia.

Clinton's Democratic rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, also saw a slight dip in his positive rating, to 49 percent from 51 percent, the poll found.

Clinton, who would be the first female U.S. president, and Obama, who would be the first black president, are in a heated battle for the Democratic nomination to face presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in November's election.

The survey was taken after Obama gave a speech last week on race in America and rejected racially charged remarks by his pastor in Chicago of two decades, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

NBC said 32 percent of respondents said Obama "sufficiently addressed the issue" and 26 percent said he needed to say more about the Wright controversy.

9. according to chuck todd of msnbc, bosnia wasn't included in this
poll. it'll be interesting when that's taken into account, especially with the media still digging.

3. Who could have foreseen that a gutter campaign would backfire?
Hillary is only hurting herself at this point in the game.

7. True
It's time her supporters put the blame where it belongs. Obama is moving on to McCain.

4. this poll was taken Monday and Tuesday and was from 700
registered voters, which gives the poll a margin of error of +/- 3.7 percent. In addition, they oversampled African-Americans in order to get a more reliable cross-tab on many of the questions we asked in this poll regarding Sen. Barack Obama's speech on race and overall response to last week's Rev. Jeremiah Wright dustup. So, even this poll is skewered and is not a reliable poll because of the added African American polling......of course this would make obama's favs rise and hrc's be lower or higher......not a good look but you can bet the whoremedia from cnn to msnbc cbs abc will use this flawed polling.....

It's a trivial thing to do.

6. They are omitting a major feature of their story;
"Clinton, who would be the first female U.S. president, and Obama, who would be the first black president, are in a heated battle for the Democratic nomination to face presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in November's election."

Should read

"Clinton, who would be the first female U.S. president, and Obama, who would be the first black president, are in a heated battle for the Democratic nomination to face presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, who would be the oldest president to ever take office, in November's election."

8. Too early for the Bosnia. I think that will be perceived as RW bashing and rally her support.
Many voters do not remember Bosnia but they remember Gore is a liar. And they hate when the MSM gangs up on Hillary. The effect of Bosnia should show up next week. We are seeing the "Judas" effect right now.

Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 02:41 AM by FrenchieCat
and will recall another lie told while there was a Clinton in office, and it will drop her poll numbers. Watch and see. Folks ain't stupid now. They are seeing her account versus the video.
