Can Hillary and Obama camps join together to Blast the Media? |
|
Here's a modest proposal.
I think there is at least one thing supporters of Clinton and Obama should agree on.
That is the absolutely shameful tone of the Mainstream Media coverage of this campaign. The worst offenders are the cable and broadcast networks.
Both Hillary and Obama -- and more important the voters -- are being denied real coverage of the candidates, because of the nature of the reporting. The obsessive and repetitive focus on the latest gaffe or wingnut attacks, while any real debate on issues of substance is swept under the rug.
Today is a perfect example. Both Clinton and Obama are laying out their views and ideas about the economy, with major speeches.
So what is the media talking about? Rev. Wright and Clinton's embarrassment over Bosnia.
Despite our differences, I think we all ought to begin pounding the media with e-mails, phone calls, whatever to gripe and demand that the media start acting like adults. We ought to call them on specific stuff as well as general complaints.

Clinton NEEDS Wright to stay atop the news.
She lost the election on issues after WI.

My point was that the media's shallow sensationalizing is a discredit to both candidates

Her friends in the corporate MSM are already trying to get away from reporting about that, they picked up on her bashing of Obama over Wright and have dropped her Bosnia lie off the map.

Personally I think both candidates should hold a joint appearance and demand that the media stop obsessing over trashy trivia and start giving some equal coverage to their ideas and plans and actual positions in depth.

10. I disagree. The media would unite in a big way to attack them EVEN more |
|
leaving mccain untouched
Sure, if mccain was part of the condemnation, but that won't happen
I understand your point, but the MSM frankly doesn't care. The corporate cronnies want mccain

9. Oh my god yes, they're AWFUL! |

I honestly can't think of a single event they've handled fairly. Maybe something on the Republican side?
But the Democratic coverage has been entirely inexcusable. They're stringing this out for their own gain, plain and simple.
