Is there something new in the Wright story?
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 11:25 AM by senseandsensibility
I heard MSNBC interrupt Hillary's economic speech and begin to talk about Wright. I could only hear snippets because the TV is on in the other room. I can not believe they are actually returning to this!

Did something happen or are they just refusing to let go? Are they going to interrupt every time a Dem tries to talk about issues from now to November with more Wright "newsflashes"?

I really can't stand this. This is controversial on FAUX, and two of their on air personalities objected to the wall to wall coverage days ago. I guess MSNBC is filling the void.:puke:

2. The media is owned by corporations that benefit from Republican policies.
We will see the media relentlessly attack any Democrat, while ignoring incredible malfeasance on the part of Republicans.

Falwell apologizes to gays, feminists, lesbians

September 14, 2001 Posted: 2:55 AM ED
http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/09/14/Falwell.apology/

The apology was hardly noticable in the media's coverage, and only done in response to its stupidity being realized in the first place. But those underlying anti-American beliefs are still held by rightwingnuts.

When coming from the left with Wright--and Obama giving the response--we KNOW that the right's response in "investigating" 9-11 was a white-wash of the Bush ineptitude (or possibly even LIHOP, let alone MIHOP).

The media dares not go too deeply into 9-11 and THAT is what is what lurks behind this attack on Obama.

20. That just show how cheap and pathetic some Hillaray supporters are
They revel in the flawed oddity that some schmuck fucking preacher tied by 20 degrees of separation can sink a presidential candidate...

Here's the memo you need to read in nice, big letters:

OBAMA IS GOING TO BE THE NOMINEE AND WILL WIN IN NOVEMBER, WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!

You can support GI Hillary and her cheating husband. They will rot soon enough and leave us real Democrats to kick some McCain ass, even after GI Hillary endorsed his senile ass...

12. I don't know if it's the same thing.
But last night on Greta's show they said that Rev. Wright had written an article for The Trumpet (I think that was the name of the church's magazine). It seems that he went on another of his diatribes and called italians some nasty things. They still didn't have the full info. and were trying to lay their hands on a copy of the December issue of the magazine.

:wtf:

Something tells me they are just hoping for a "Gotcha" moment. Why would Obama need to come out again?? His speech covered everything! The lifetime of this incident is a function of how long the MSM chooses to re-run the same clips.

That would be my guess.

I also bet if Olbermann wasnt the highest rated show he would have tried shutting Keith up about Hillary too.

19. This just in... According to Jeremiah Wright, liberalism offers empty promises...
http://www.tucc.org/pdf/rey_5-2006.pdf

Our hope is not built on faith-based dollars, empty liberal
promises or veiled hate-filled preachments of the so-called
conservatives. Our hope is built on Him who came in the
flesh to set us free.

:wtf:

22. It's a minister. Ministers are not supposed to endorse specific idealogy.
Ministers believe that through Jesus Christ we can do the right things and make the world a better place.

That's what they think. All of them.

Why you wouldn't understand this is confusing to me.

Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 11:55 AM by The Night Owl
I don't expect Mr. Wright to endorse liberalism, but if he is going to bash it, then I'm going to respond to that bashing by pointing out that Wright is wrong.

26. Ah, okay
Let's keep in mind that no ideology, in and of itself, can fix all of society's ills. It appears to me that he was referring to extreme liberalism, since he clearly supports basic liberalism.

But like I said, he's a preacher, and preachers are going to advance the ideas of better living through Christianity, not liberalism or conservatism.

And it's certainly okay for you to disagree with his position. I just don't think it's anything that could become a controversy.

27. If Mr. Wright was referring to "extreme liberalism" when he wrote that liberalism...
...offers empty promises then he should have used the term "extreme liberalism" in his statement.

I think you're making excuses. Jeremiah Wright is clearly a crackpot who says whatever comes to mind.
