The true character of the Democratic nominees will be reflected by who loses the nomination
If that person, ACTIVELY endorses the Democratic nominee, goes out of the way to bring healing, and tell the supporters NOT to support mccain, then truely, that person will be a hero

However, if the loser of the Democratic nomination makes a brief congratulation, and then vanishes from the scene, we will know the true character of that person

1. Interesting point
I hope that people don't take their ball and go home.

4. Me personally, if Hillary is not the nominee,
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 01:00 PM by Beacool
I'll be taking my ball and all my toys home. That means, not spending a minute of my time campaigning for someone I don't believe in, not sending any money to the DNC, and more importantly since it's what they really care about, no more organizing fund raisers for the party. When I think of all the money ($55M) that Hillary alone raised for OTHER candidates since 2001 it makes me weep in disappointment for the way she is being treated by some within the party.

5. Wow. what a disgusting post
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 01:06 PM by Quixote1818
If Hillary doesn't attempt to heal the party then the 55 Million she raised for other candidates will go to waste because many people who support her will stay home rather than come out and vote for those candidates. There is a lot more at stake hear that your candidate winning. You brag about the money she raised for other candidates then turn around and say you are taking your ball and going home and encouraging others to do the same. Pathetic!

17. See that's why the ignore function is so useful.
You oftentimes can get the gist of idiotic posts from the responses.

7. I understand where you're coming from, but please vote for the candidate.
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 01:10 PM by Cant trust em
I understand your point of view about not doing extra work for a candidate that doesn't get you revved up. But when the GE comes around we need to rally and vote for our nominee. This is our election to lose and we can't let primary fractures kill our chances to turn the White House blue.

11. My feelings exactly. I will not be too happy voting for the nominee if my candidate isn't the
nominee, but I will DO IT because the stakes are too high. Those Democrats that actually vote for mccain because their candidate did not win the nomination can go to hell as far as I am concerned

They will have contributed directly to the overturning of civil rights, rights to privacy, continuing Iraq war, trashing of the economy, and social security and medicare, and those individuals who do that, in my view are the most self-centered idiots I can think of

15. I got off the flame train months ago
I posted some dumb video where Bill Clinton is falling asleep in church during an MLK day celebration. It was right after his heart surgery. After that low point it was like I looked into the mirror and saw a freeper. What the hell am I doing talking shit about democrats?!?!?!? Never again I said. I feel a lot better as a result.

9. I am not going to get involved in a partisan fight with you over this
my point was simply that the losing candidate should bring the party together

As far as individual people who don't vote for the Democratic nominee, I will not use the words to express my disdain for them.

They would be implicitly voting for a continuation of the bush policies, and that is unforgivable to me.

I will vote for the DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE WHOEVER THAT IS, even though I don't feel particularly happy about the opponent to my candidate, and like you I most likely won't campaign for that person, but I will vote for that person.

I was referring to the candidates specifically

10. I'm thinking of taking my money out of the DNC
If they can't make the two candidates behave well enough to get one of them elected, I don't see the point.

Both candidates would be a vast improvement over what we have now. That's my big picture. But the way things are going between the two campaigns, they are just screwing the pooch.

16. My response to all.
I have no doubt that if Hillary is not the nominee, she will shake herself up and do the best she can to help elect the nominee. But then again, she's a better person than I am.

I am not encouraging anyone not to vote for Obama. I'm only saying what I'll be doing, everybody else can vote or not vote as they see fit.

I have never said that I would vote for McCain, I have never voted for a Republican and I'm not about to start now.

I will vote for anyone else on the Dem. ticket and will campaign for my local and state candidates.

My feelings for Obama are separate from my support for Hillary. I honestly don't think that he's ready nor prepared to be president at this point in time. If you think that I came to this conclusion rapidly or that I'm not heartsick about not voting for a Democrat for the first time in my life, then you are mistaken.

20. The same feeling you have for Hillary I have for Obama, and yet
I WILL VOTE FOR HILLARY without hesitation if she is the nominee, because the Democrats losing this time will screw EVERYONE

Of course it is your choice though, but there is NOTHING worse than a mccain presidency
