The "Destruction" of Hillary Clinton
I've seen many posts talking about Obama or his supporters trying to "destroy" Hillary or the Clintons.

Exhibit A

What are you people talking about? How could Obama, et al, ever hope to damage these people worse than what they've already been through? The Clintons have been through a hell you and I will never know, publicly, globally, and for many, many years. Whatever your opinion of the Clintons, you gotta respect their tenacity and toughness.

But now Obama is somehow going to, and I quote, "destroy" her. How? When? By sniper fire or by his flowery rhetoric? Will he destroy her more so than the Vast RW Conspiracy that she claims she is so adept at defeating? How can she take McCain, Rush and Hannity on if Obama is so close to "destroying" her now?

It seems to me that Obama is just trying to win this nomination. If him winning over Hillary is the same as him "destroying" her, then I guess I can understand your usage of the word.

Hillary supporters, let's drop this hyperbole please.

1. The "Implosion of Hillary" is what is really going on
Hillary is her own worse enemy. She and her aides thought Howard Dean's 2003-4 grassroots funded Prez campaign was a fluke and after they helped destroy Dean's Prez campaign, they thought that their corporate financed campaign would win hands down in the future. What they chose to ignore was that the Progressive Movement that backed Dean did not die with Dean's Prez campaign. It kept growing. It got Dean elected DNC Chair over the objections of the Clintonistas. That along with John Kerry losing to the worse President in American history in 2004 proved to the Democratic and left wing Independent base that the Dem Establishment should not be given a free pass in the nomination process. Hillary is very central to the Dem Establishment and thought that the 2008 Dem nomination would be a coronation for her.

Hillary and the Clintonistas are going the way of the dinosaurs and dodo birds.

2. Great post, and I agree, but I understand their pain.
It is incredibly upsetting to see in this way.

3. Self-destruction is more like it
I don't see anyone around here 'making' her run such a lousy campaign.
For that, she's got no one to blame but herself.

4. I wish I didn't agree so much
Clinton could have tauted her knowledge and the experience she does have helping women's groups and as a Senator, but instead she exagerrates and attacks Obama. Her loss is on her, and if Obama is to blame, the Clinton campaign can also blame the Obama campaign for running a smarter campaign in all of the states, not just the "big" ones.

I can hear Clinton now as she loses the nomination, "My precious, my precious!"

7. I see none of the Hillary supporters care to take
the opposing position of my argument.

Telling.
