"Voters Fall in Love in the Primaries. In the General Election, They Fall in Line." -Bill Clinton |
|
Or as John Kerry put it: "Stop crying in your teacups,It isn't going to change. Get over it."
I'll keep it short. She's losing. Obama's going to be our nominee. You know you don't want president McCain. Support the nominee. Some will try to win you over with kind words. Others will taunt you mercilessly if you remain obstinate. Get ready to fall in line, because that day is approaching.

11. Who took care of Whom in the 1990s?!@#$ |
|
It was voters and activists who worked doggedly to defend the Clintons, and as fast as we could address one scandal, another one would show up. Indeed, when we were in the midst of dealing with the Paula Jones debacle, he was already getting blown by Monica Lewinsky!
They may think they don't need our support, but, believe me, it would have been worse for them if we all hadn't worked so hard to defend them. Public opinion counts for a lot. Who do they think organized all of the letters-to-the-editors campaigns? Helped others set up their first websites which were devoted entirely to defending the Clintons? Set up protocols so others could easily build email groups to disseminate defense information? Organized demonstrations and phone-call campaigns to Congress? Spent months doing research to build their in-the-trenches defense?

from Freeper types over the course of the last eight years. He didn't make it easy, what with bringing us NAFTA and DOMA and losing us the house and senate. But his ridiculous behavior this primary season has made me wish I had just kept my fucking mouth shut the last eight years.
Hillary Clinton is my senator, and it's not like she's done such a bang-up job of it that she's automatically entitled to my vote. I didn't even vote to re-elect her in 2006 because I was so offended by her IWR vote. So I certainly don't see how I owe Hillary Clinton my vote.
I don't owe the Clintons anything, and the implication that anyone owes them anything is ridiculous. They're elected officials. They work for us. They have to earn our votes. They would be in the shits without the voters, and they would do well to remember that.

Let them taunt. Neither Clinton or Obama own my vote or are entitled to it. Neither does the party. If they want my vote, they should be working to earn it. At this point, Hillary is a lost cause (actually has been for a long time) and Obama is pretty close.

6. I'm an Obama supporter but I don't believe that "fall in line" horseshit. |
|
I believe that we are supposed to vote for the best candidate--not just anything with a (D) in front of it.
If Obama is the Dem candidate, I'll gladly vote for him. If he's not, there will be no one else on the ticket who I believe would be the best, or even a good, president.
So I will write in Obama's name.
The Clintons have from the beginning banked on this "fall in line" approach. They believe they have the right to do whatever they want, say whatever they want about Democratic Party voters who dont' vote for them, use the worst and most vile Rove tactics, and because HRC has a (D) in front of her name we should vote for her?
Sorry, my mama didn't raise no doormats.
I will vote for the best candidate, period.
One thing I will also do if Hillary Clinton steals the primary...I will work against her in the campaign. I won't work FOR McCain but I will work AGAINST Hillary Clinton. And I'm not the only political activist who plans to do this.
Also, if--God forbid--she gets herself shoved into the Oval Office, the first bonafide ethical or criminal problem she has, I will be working with others to get her impeached and OUT of the Oval Office.
That's my plan. Yours?
