Don't blame Hillary unless you believe Obama can only unite when there is no challenge. That does not make one a uniter.

The POTUS faces challenges all the time, both people and situations,

If he cannot unite his own party behind him, how can he unite the country let alone the free world?

148. Obama is running a smear campaign...
...his whole campaign is based on attacking the Clintons or Bill Clintons legacy. He does this to avoid talking about issues.

He is driving half the Democratic party away from himself. Look at the threads posted by his supporters....80% of them are attack threads against Obamas rivals.

Obama's 'supporters' never post anything that actually supports him, just character assasinations.

Apparently 'unity' only applies to republicans, Obama's scorched earth campaign is destroying Unity within the democratic party by alienating Hillary supporters.

candidates like Hillary are powerful in this environment. It wouldn't surprise me if Poppy Bush and Carlyle were supporting the Clinton ticket.

29. Even After Wright Flap, 60% of Americans
Think he can unite the nation. One of the major reasons is that he has an intuitive sense of how to frame an issue to rally people behind it. It is not just fancy words, it the crucial political tool of framing that make Obama's speeches impressive.

After years of Democrats having no idea how to express our most heartfelt convictions, that's a definite plus.

If you have two companies and they both have some product defects but the media runs non stop coverage about...lets say a defective "reverend doll" and next to nothing on the defective "sniper doll" from the other company, wouldn't any person with average intelligence realize that the company that sells the reverend doll may have a hard time selling their products to everyone?

Are you ok?

You obviously are just biased in your views or have a problem comprehending the reality of the situation. Wake up and stop being an enabler to all of this bullshit we call politics, our children's future are at stake here. 95. That's a fair question.
Let me tell you what happened here in Elko County. This place is about as red as you can get. We have never in the history of our congressional district elected a Dem. (Which we hope to change this year.) Bush took better than 75% of the vote in both the 2000 and the 2004 elections. In fact, it was Elko County that put Bush over the top in the tight contest in Nevada in 2004.

But something amazing happened when we had our caucuses earlier this year. The Dem caucus drew three times as many participants as the Republicans did, and that was when the Repugs still had a contest going too. At the caucus I attended I saw several life long Republicans and conservatives who decided it's time for a change. There are so few (or at least there used to be) Dems in Elko that for the Dem caucus to have had so many attendees a lot of indies and especially Repugs had to have attended the Dem caucus, not the Repug caucus. As it turned out, Obama took 65% of the caucus votes in Elko county.

If he can unite Dems and Repugs in Elko County he can surely unite everywhere else around this country.

Obama may aspire to be a uniter, but so far HRC has had the decency not to pretend that anyone would mistake her for a uniter.

I mean, the repukes would gouge out their eyes with a sharp stick before they'd vote for her; in fact, they'd crawl through ten miles of razor wire to vote against her, and so far the majority of Dems aren't that crazy about her either, so OP just sounds like sour grapes to me. If the corporacrat candidate is not a uniter, the people's choice better not be, either.

139. Both Obama and Clinton beleive that the party will be unified at some time in the near future
from today's news:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080328/ap_on_el_pr/democrats_party_unity

"They may bicker daily over issues, character and innuendo, but both Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama appear to agree on one thing: Democratic voters will coalesce around a nominee and carry him or her to victory in November over Republican John McCain."

---------------
Of course, each hopes that he or she will be the unifier :)

145. LOL!!!! That has to be best laugh I've had all week!
Obama never claimed to be able to quell the passions of those so fixed on becoming President that nothing else mattered.

He claims to be able to bridge the chasm among the general population that was purposely constructed by Rove/Cheney/Bush over the past 8 years.
