How Will Clinton Win With a 37% Positive Rating?
US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's positive rating has dropped to a new low of 37 per cent in an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released today.

Senator Clinton's Democratic rival, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, also saw a slight dip in his positive rating, to 49 per cent from 51 per cent, the poll found.

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,23440332-5005962,00.html?from=public_rss

For someone supposedly fully vetted with no surprises around the corner (cough Denise Rich cough), Hillary would start against McCain with a positive rating down in Bush country.

That is before a vast right wing conspiracy ever got her hands on her. That's before an apocalyptic convention fight that would be decided through backroom deals.

As I have said many times, this election will come down to voter turnout - just like 2004. The polls of likely voters don't mean much without a measure of voter enthusiasm and turnout of new voters.

If the Democratic nominee doesn't have people feeling good, they are not going to bother coming out to vote.

Meanwhile, even after the hot heat of the Wright episode, Obama's positive rating dipped all of two percentage points.

There is no big excitement about McCain to drive up GOP voters. Only the chance to vote AGAINST somebody will get these voters to the polls. Meanwhile, Obama is generating crazy fundraising and enthusiasm for all sorts of never-before-seen corners of the political spectrum.

Even if Obama were not the most inspiring figure since JFK, his nomination just makes better political sense.

But Hillary and her supporters seem to be extremely math challenged.

And now she seems to be on a mission of taking Obama down with her.

6. How will Obama win...
when nearly 40% of Hillary's supporters are planning to vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee? How will Obama win given that the majority of people in Ohio and Pennsylvania will vote for McCain over Obama?

7. Well, it's 28%, not 40%...
...and I don't believe it for a minute.

In the heat of a primary this combative, supporters get caught up in the battle. I'll bet that both the Obama and Clinton crossover polls are at least 50% high. Dems will vote for the Dem in November.

9. The same way he is winning now
going to states, talking to people, and having record turn-outs of people walking the walk to the voting booth to vote for him.

10. She has lost all respect from me, at this point.
She is, it appears, without conscience It does seem that if she can't have the nomination, that she will take down Obama and the party with her. I started out with Edwards and when he dropped out, my second choice was Clinton, but no more. As noted, I have lost all respect for her and now see her as the enemy of the party...and without conscience about what she is doing...or for the destructive consequences.

14. What has she done? Seems like every week I think she has sunk to a new low.. then..more...

1) One of her surrogates, Geraldine Ferraro went racist ballistic by saying the only reason Obama was doing so well was that he was lucky enough be be born black

2) She basically endorsed McCain over Obama

3) She lied about being under sniper fire in Bosnia

4) She has continually tried to besmirch Obama's character and ability to be commander in chief and president....not that she would be better and he is a worthy opponent....he is just a speech....

5) She flip flopped on NAFTA

6) She has repeatedly implied she had a heck of a lot more direct experience during her husband's presidency than she really had...no security clearance, was largely doing ceremonial stuff after her health care program fisszled out.

7) I'm sure there are more. These are just off the top of my head. Stuff like this I try to forget....sometimes I am successful!

In any case, if you seriously ask the question of what Hillary is doing that would piss people off....I gave you a start. I'm sure the Hillary Herd has canned answers for all of them. Programmed sheep in the Herd.

18. Its not so much the low positive but the high negative/unfavorable rating that will kill her...
Hillary has been unelectable since before she even started running. That is the problem for her. I came at this whole issue from another angle here ---> http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5288809

41. Excuse me but the poll from nbc was only 700 people. A low
sampling of people but guess what? They polled more african americans in this poll to see how the preacher was helping or hurting obama.....Kind of a stupid poll because all we have heard for 2 weeks is this is the way blacks conduct their services, and if I added 100 plus more of one race I have a feeling that obama's numbers would rise or stay pretty damn close and so the wright was not hurting him, and as for hrc the numbers of unfavorable would rise.....so I do not count this a worthy poll with 700 and more of one race....
