Hillary fails NC Values Test.
Here's an excerpt from an actual interview she gave yesterday:

"Q. One last thing: Do you prefer Western North Carolina barbecue or Eastern North Carolina barbecue?

A. (Laughter) I know a question not to answer. I just like barbecue. I’m kind of an equal-opportunity barbecue eater."

North Carolina is a Mono-Que-ist state. For inexplicable reasons it is unacceptable to enjoy both Eastern and Western barbecue. Saying that you like both is just deviant and wrong according to Que connoisseurs. Don't ask why. That's just the way it is. You might as well pray to more than one God in these parts.

Put a fork in her.

She's done.

1. Of course, that stuff really isn't Barbecue anyway...
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 05:59 AM by lapfog_1
everyone knows that the only Barbecue is Kansas City (and not KC Masterpiece, but the good stuff from Arthur Bryant's or Gates & Sons).

4. Barbecue is made from pork
The stuff in KC is just a waste of a good potential steak

(Actually it's quite yummy)

5. Oh, they do pork too...
And some folks from Texas will be along shortly to correct both of us!

2. That's sort of a Catch 22
If she answered Eastern, the Western folks would be perturbed, and vice versa. Like the movie "War Games," sometimes the best strategy is to not play the game at all.

Good info on NC barbecue, though. I like cultural tidbits like this.

:hi:

9. Being stupid, my vote goes for Stamey's BBQ in Greensboro. The NYT ranked it #1 in NC,
which usually elicits a cry of "what does the NYT know about BBQ?"

Seriously, for over 30 years I have brought Stamey's Lexington-style BBQ (frozen) to friends in CA, Boston, Seattle,...wherever. People love it, even my two Jewish brothers-in-law.

13. And yet you Yankees keep moving down here
Our stupidity is just a ruse to keep the state from getting too crowded.

Alas, it's not working very well.

10. Oh I wish we had good BBQ here
(and this is New York City for crying out loud)
The best I ever had was at small (but i think famous) BBQ stand in Atlanta.
OMG.. that was twenty years ago and I'm still craving it.
What wonderful hotness !

Did anyone ask her about the closed textile factories and trade agreements?

14. As a Virginian, I say KC or Memphis BBQ ALWAYS beats Caroline BBQ in taste.
It's quite simple...I am THEE authority on BBQ. :toast:

Carolina BBQ, with that vinegary sauce, just isn't as good as a good KC or Memphis BBQ.

15. If you're from the North you can't be an authority on barbecue
It's in the rule book.

Look it up!

17. Picking a side wouldn't cost her any votes
But by refusing to she's just giving the impression of being an opportunist who's unwilling to stand for anything.
