If BOTH Hillary and Obama began to speak out about NOT voting for McCain... |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 10:20 AM by Blue_Roses
then I think we might--might can began to get past the petty bullshit and go back to what really matters, which is beating the crap out of the GOP's candidate.
I saw a snip of her speaking out against voting for McCain this morning and it restored some hope, since the bitterness that has crept in about this campaign. I don't know if Obama has done the same yet, but he should speak out too. They need to turn the spotlight off of themselves and put it on McCain. I know, I know, the barrage of "she started it" or "he started it" will flood this post, but for once, can we be the adults that we claim to be (or at least "hope" to be someday).
I'm tired of this crap, as I know many more here are too. For the few that are so stuck in their warped thinking, that only "one" can be the "right" candidate, believe me, you will live to eat those words if McCain wins. I think we all need to encourage our candidate of choice to take the high road--FROM THIS DAY FORWARD--and quit trying to rake each over the coals.
Edited to add: This is in reference to the recent poll stating that 20% of Democrats will vote for McCain if one or the other wins, whether it be--Hillary or Obama. The media heads are calling it the "bitterness" vote:eyes:

1. Obama has been speaking out against mccain and his policies |
|
It would be far more productive if the Clinton campaign did the same instead of labelling him as a moderate
The truth is mccain's policies would be a disaster for the country and the world, and mccain is NO MODERATE

3. I've heard him speak out against McCain's policies, but what I'm talking |
|
about is direct talk to his supporters that by voting for McCain if he doesn't win the nomination just to make a "bitterness vote" would hurt more in the long run.
That's my point.
There is a poll floating around that has got the media heads spinning. It's the poll that states twenty percent would vote for McCain if Obama didn't win or Hillary didn't win. That's what she was talking about.

4. Wow, it would be hard for me to believe that Obama or Clinton supporters would vote for mccain |

If the candidates have to make that kind of appeal to their respective supporters, we are in a lot of trouble
Just look at mccain's voting record, and if any Democratic supporter voted for mccain, then they are complete idiots
At the minimum it is a continuation of the bush agenda
and at the maximum it is worse

2. I cannot understand the order "Obama-McCain-Clinton" any more |
|
than I can understand the order "Clinton-McCain-Obama."
That doesn't sound like Democrats or progressives to me. That sounds like spite. Spite will condemn this country to four more years of Republican devastation. I would love to hear both candidates speak out against this.

5. Agree. The two of them need to take control of their campaigns and end this shit. |
|
The fact that they do not do this illustrates (for me) that the lure of power is stronger than their desire to stop the pukes. From the exclusion of candidates in the earlier debates to the running of the debates themselves, from the people they choose to surround themselves with to the themes they push in their appearances and ads, HC and BO have consistently shown that they still believe that they have to run "to the right" to win votes. The only problem is that the votes they are winning are right-wing and will not be there in November. Please - my kingdom for a real, liberal, Democrat.
