Hillary snubs the SF Chronicle but meets with Scaife Newspaper
We admit it. The Chronicle editorial board was disappointed when Hillary Rodham Clinton refused our invitation for a meeting before we endorsed a Democrat in the Feb. 5 presidential primary. But it really hurts to learn that not only did Clinton snub us, but Tuesday she also met with the editorial board of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. At the meeting, Clinton chatted up the paper's owner, Richard Mellon Scaife, the man who once served as the éminence grise/bankroller of what the then-first lady dubbed the "vast right-wing conspiracy."

at the article they have a link where you can go view Hillary meeting with PTR editorial board, they look like they are real chummy

6. The SF Chron isn't really liberal. But it's not as hard core RW as the Scaifee papers.

3. When Obama does it, he's "transforming the political conversation"
Indeed, if Hillary declined to meet with the Trib, Team Obama would be damning her to the 9th Circle for being gutless, divisive, and deluded.

9. Nuts is the understatement of the year
It's not even the most popular or well-read paper in Pittsburgh. I could almost buy into this 'crossing the political spectrum' if the Tribune was the only option in Pittsburgh. But the Tribune is to Pittsburgh the same exact way the Times is to Washington. Two papers that notoriously lose money in order to glorify it's eccentric owners political agenda.

7. I was neutral until I heard about her and Richard Mellon Scaife's paper
Now I'm leaning Obama, and I'm still peeved at him for conjuring up Ronald Reagan a few months ago.

Richard Mellon Scaife spent a vast sum of money to help bring down the Clintons back during Clinton's time in the White House. Much of this slimefest was done via Scaife's newspaper the Pittburgh Tribune (the Tribune is to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in the same way the Washington Times is to the Washington Post).

So if a man and his news paper spent millions slandering my name, why the fuck would I give-in to an interview ESPECIALLY if I had the more neutral and more read newspaper - accesible for the same interview.
