Poll question: How much respect do you have for Hillary Clinton? |
|
I am not asking whether you are voting for her or not; that is irrelevant. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you respect her as a leader of our party?

8. I checked 1; but that's better than I would give McCain. |
|
And if disaster strikes and Hillary gets the Dem nomination, I'll still vote for her.

34. If you believe that DU is representative of the American electorate ... |

then you are naive to an extent that you should not be allowed outside without mommy or daddy in close proximity. Don't get me wrong. I love this place (I wouldn't be a long-time donor and poster otherwise), but as a group, we are more than just a little bit left of center.

I respect her tenacity and her willingness to fight hard, but I think she has crossed the line a few times during this campaign. I've also watched her for years and found her appealing but felt like she wasn't quite telling the truth, or was parsing her words very carefully, and that bugged me a little.

I will always respect her as a former first lady. Back in December she was equal to Obama. I was a Kucinich supporter. But her behavior over the last month has made me lose respect for her and I don't think there is anything she can do to get it back. Her dark side is too much like her husbands. And her good side isn't as good as his.

24. She'll is is absolutely one of the great women of this era |
|
This is still a sexist society. Even at DU there's plenty of evidence of that. But, Hillary Clinton has learned to fight, fight, fight, and despite the rabid antipathy for her by both right-wingers and parts of the left, she has done very well. I support Obama, but have great respect for Hillary Clinton, who if nothing else has shown women the difficult odds of overcoming male advantages in this society. She has made an important and constructive place for herself in women's history, and someday someone like Susan Faladi will write a book exposing the rampant sexism in our society. The attacks on Hillary remind me of the attacks that the left waged against gays up until the 1980s. Up until that day, leftist organizations often cited homosexuality as proof of capitalist decadence.

25. I picked 4. I like her as a leader...in the Senate. |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 02:25 PM by Kristi1696
For now.
But, in all honesty, we could probably have a better Dem in her Senate seat. One that wouldn't be so quick to vote for issues like the IWR and Kyle-Lieberman, among other issues.
ETA: Oops! Actually voted a 4, not 3.
