http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/03/superdelegates-pledging-to-back.html

Here is the summary of changes from Demcomwatch this week

3-20-08 - Added DNC Carol Ronen (IL) for Obama. She endorsed him a while ago but we just found a valid source.
3-20-08 - Added Gov. Bill Richardson (NM) for Obama.
3-22-08 - Removed Mike Panetta (DC)# from the superdelegate list. He had endorsed Obama.(1)
3-25-08 - Removed DNC Paul Kirk (MA) for Obama. Link we used doesn't meet our standards. New article is saying he is uncommitted(2)
3-26-08 - Added Rep. Dan Lipinski (IL) for Obama
3-27-08 - Added new Connecticut Add-on Don Williams (CT)# for Obama.
- Removed Rep. Albert Wynn (MD) from Obama after he announced his resignation today.(3)
3-28-08 - Added Sen. Bob Casey (PA) , DNC Steven Alari (CA) for Obama.
Moved Sen. Maria Cantwell (WA) from Clinton to Undecided.(4)
Moved Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA) from Obama to Undecided.(4)

Explanation

(1) Panetta is not yet selected to be the add on super delegate from Washington DC but the rules state

However, the Call for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, section I(I), Footnote 5, states:
The District of Columbia shall select its Statehood Representative, if a Democrat, as one of its two (2) unpledged add-on delegates.

So he will be added and he is for Obama but his number will be subtracted from Demcomwatch totals for now and added on later when he is official.

(2) He is referred to in the article as endorsing Obama but not strong enough for Demcomwatch
(3) Wynn resigned having lost the primary. The person who won the primary has endorsed Obama.
(4) Both of these superdelegates have said that they will vote for nominee who has the most pledged delegates. You could argue that Cantwell should be added to Obama's numbers but Demcomwatch has made her neutral. To move Lofgren to neutral seems strange to me because she is talking about an unlikely hypothetical comment while Cantwell is talking about something that has happened. Hopefully Demcomwatch will agree.

As you can see there are several people who are known to be add on superdelegates and they already have endorsed Obama. So far only two 'add on' superdelegates have announced their preference - both for Obama.

9. demconwatch is really trying hard to stay objective
They need to be commended for that. But they still list 100% of the Michigan and Florida totals without notation, although it's in a separate table, and that's problematic to me.

FYI ... The Huckabee Index went down to 72 last night, then back up to 73 this morning with a new poll in North Carolina on 3/27 showing Clinton +12 (up from +10).

Can't wait for the Texas results today.

15. You're right ... but there could be ways around that
The Clintons could loan more money to her campaign. If they're really serious about her chances to win, she would do that. And then they would need to find new ways of raising funds. I've seen even local campaigns lend themselves up to a million dollars. It's stupid to do unless you really have a chance to win, though.

22. Of course, "up 12" actually means her lead is shrinking.
Which is awesome. I can't wait until she finally accepts her loss, so the nom can wail on McLame.

16. His name is Roy Romer, Not Rommer.
He was my governor and an excellent one. Too bad Blowens screwed the state up, and left it to Bill Ritter (D) to clean it up. *sigh*

21. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is expected to endorse Sen. Obama
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 10:07 PM by grantcart

One North Carolinian confirmed that at least several of the state's House members would go public in favor of Sen. Obama before long. Meanwhile, elected officials in other states with upcoming contests, including Indiana, Montana and Oregon, are weighing whether to endorse Sen. Obama.

What makes such endorsements significant is that they're from superdelegates. These delegates -- members of Congress, governors and other party officials -- can vote for whomever they want at the Democratic convention in August. Sen. Obama has a slight lead over Sen. Clinton in the pledged-delegate count -- the delegates won during primaries and caucuses -- but neither can amass enough pledged delegates for a majority. That makes the vote of the superdelegates decisive.

Since the "Super Tuesday" primaries on Feb. 5, Sen. Obama has won commitments from 64 superdelegates and Sen. Clinton has gotten nine. Sen. Obama has a total of 217 superdelegates in his camp while Sen. Clinton has 250, and her margin has been shrinking with each week. Sen. Clinton would have several more in her tally, but they're from Michigan, and delegates from Michigan and Florida won't be seated -- at least for now -- because both states defied party rules and held their primaries earlier than permitted
