just in case you thought they were throwing in the towel anytime soon, here's the Comeback Kid with his latest plea to the masses (and BTW I have no idea why I'm on their email list): ============================== Message from Bill
Dear Friend,
Here's the most important thing you need to know about this race: it's neck-and-neck.
Only 130 delegates separate Hillary from Senator Obama -- and that's not counting Florida and Michigan. The difference in popular vote is less than 1 percent, and millions of voters have yet to make their voices heard. This election should be about their choice.
But now we're hearing people -- elected officials, party members, and Obama campaign surrogates -- call for Hillary to pull out.
With the race this close, it sure doesn't make sense to me that she'd leave now -- does it make sense to you?

I've heard neocons use words like "the" and "and" also. Do I have to stop speaking english because Bill Kristol does too?

11. Billary is 'english?' |
|
Billary is what republicans called her in the 90s when they were accusing her of being a lesbian.
It is posts like yours that convince me that Obama supporters would be wearing purple heart bandages if Obama was going against Kerry and not Hillary.

17. I love the smell of sweeping generalizations based on superficial criteria. |
|
Someone who uses a term popularized by Republicans in the 1990's doesn't have their progressive credentials taken away by that fact alone. And my defense of them doesn't mean that I would be wearing a purple heart bandage. You're making extremely presumptuous extrapolations based on the most trivial criteria possible.
If I start calling universal healthcare "socialized medicine" then we'll talk.

|
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 03:20 PM by OzarkDem
how using Freeper/Limbaugh terms against Clinton during this primary is causing some fellow DU'ers to permanently change their opinions of them. Regardless of the outcome of the primary, I'll have a hard time feeling mutual respect for a fellow DU'er who stooped to such tactics.
I'll forgive people who've done it, but I will think less of them.

8. They have to say this... |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 12:26 PM by Orsino
...right up until the press conference announcing concession. It's okay for them to spin like this, I suppose, but a lead of 139 delegates (per CNN) is not "neck-and-neck."
edit: and no, we don't need to echo nicknames like "Billary" or "Algore."

14. Only 130 delegates.... |
|
that part cracks me up.
Like she even has a snowballs chance to pick up 130 delegates in the last 8 states. Especially when she's going to lose at least half of those: NC, OR, SD, MT and probably IN.
The polls are narrowing in PA, she can't win the primary unless she takes PA by at least 15-20%, the math doesn't add up.

I didn't expect this thread to make a lot of friends among the Hillary people, but I didn't really mean to stick my finger in anybody's eye in the way I seem to have done.
