Obama LOSING in just about every H2H Matchup against McCain:
Hillary fares much better throughout the country.

At least with Hillary we have a GREAT chance of retaking the White House.

Backing Obama is a losing proposition!

Now I understand Michelle Obama's saying, " For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."

18. mmmm...NO, Hillary is the only one who can beat McCain..
Check out virtually every poll on surveyusa.com.

In state after state, the Jeremiah Wright scandal is KILLING Obama in head-to-head matchups against McCain.

In Alabama, a state that BHO bragged he could “turn blue” after winning the primary there, McCain is THUMPING him now. Same in Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and on and on. McCain would win 40 states against Obama — it wouldn’t even be close.

An Obama candidacy would be POISON to down-ticket Democrats this fall.

do not compute. When Obama is the Dem nominee, he will literally clean McCrazy's clock on all issues. Hillary has revealed herself as a serial liar in just about everything, IWR, NAFTA, Bosnia sniper BS, as infinitum. Hillary cannot win the primary or the GE. If you can stomach Fox Noise you will see the repukes pushing Hillary to win because they KNOW she can be beaten when they dredge up all the Clinton machine crap from 20 + years.

The certainty I had that Kerry would win -- the KNOWING that this country wouldn't put Bush back in the WH...

Granted, the vote was stolen, but almost half the people supported him (Bush) - when I would have guessed it would have been nowhere NEAR that mark.

I can't even imagine how horrified we Dems will be if it happens again. It would seem surreal.

99. My biggest fear!
I remember thinking that Bush so narrowly won (or stole) the vote in 2000, and the way things were looking in 04 I was certain some of the people who had voted for him the first time would NOT be stupid enough to vote for him the second time. then, 4 weeks before the election I realized how bad it looked. I volunteered to be a precinct leader for MoveOn. I canvassed for them, knocked on over 300 doors in less than 2 weeks. It was heart breaking.

We can't let it happen again. That is one of the reasons I'm supporting Obama, it seems like he has been more effective getting the people involved. we the people. I think that's the only way we can win. we can't let them steal it again.

I just heard a radio talk show, possibly Sam Seder, who said that in the past, the majority of people who were MOST affected by the policies like economics were the ones least likely to vote. that kind of makes sense to me. But let's all hope this year will be different. the increased voter turn out at primaries gives me hope. We the people have (hopefully) reached our breaking point with the war, the gas prices, healthcare, jobs....

I'm hoping....

104. I'm especially concerned
about the number of people who won't vote for someone other than "their" candidate. Granted, they stole the election in '04, but I can't help but think that if MASSES of Dems had turned out, they wouldn't have been able to carry it off.

And it is understandable that those most affected by economic policies don't participate. Why bother? They've been promised so much for so long with nothing forthcoming, I'd feel helpless and discouraged, too. Heartbreaking.

but I'm hoping a lot of those polled were not real democrats. I know the CNN poll was a vote-on-line opinion poll––no way to verify that you were actually a registered democrat. I know several were more accurate. and I hope with a little time between getting a nominee and the GE people will have calmed down a little...seriously, how could a dem look at either of our candidates and pick McÇain over them?

Kos, Huffpost, Moveon, Buzzflash, Marshall, Schultz, Miller, Rhodes, Sedar, Malloy have all gone with hatchets against Hillary.

-For Hannity you have Schultz.
-For Ingrahm you have Rhodes.
-For Littlegreenfootballs.com you have Dailykos.
-For Powerlineblog you have Huffingtonpost
-For FreeRepublic you have DemocraticUnderground
etc.....

The pundits always hated her. MSNBC "Most Surely Nothing But Crap" has their sharpest knives out for her.
She is the "laughing stock" of most everyone. It's times like these that make me believe it is not worth it to get involved in civic activities. Take care of yourself and "be done with it".

Hillary has her flaws as do all people and more so politicians. I never understood the hatred for HRC. I don't understand why the left has shown more contempt for her these days than they do for Bush. :wtf: Obama is a politicians like all the rest. He has repackaged what already is. That is all he has done. He has done his share of politicking. He is nothing special.

There is clearly no room for we moderates. Those who do not always think and want policies in the extremes. No wonder half the people don't bother to vote.

Anyone who would call Schultz a left wing activist is divorced from reality. Schultz still has half a foot in the Republican party. Seemingly you have a WHOLE foot in it. Step on over.

You folks aren't moderates, you're corporatist. Hillary is LYING through her teeth about NAFTA/WTO reform. Her corporate backers are benefiting from outsourcing. Her economic team will be the SAME ONE that adviced these REALLY BAD arrangements. They still believe in leveling economies. What do you people think they will change?

Obama is also controlled by his donors ... US. So that is why he will actually put the thumbscrews to people to get these disastrous deals changed.

Why don't you go over to FreeRepublic.com for discussion. They will agree with you that Hillary should be the nominee.

25. We'd have a worse chance with Hillary.
Every Repug who doesn't think McCain is conservative enough and otherwise would stay home will go out and vote against Hillary, who I presume will spend her campaign ducking Bosnian sniper fire.

Oh, wait, I "misspoke." She'll be giving spectacular answers like that gem about Spitzer's plan to give licenses to illegals instead.

BTW, how is Hillary doing against McCain in H2H polls? Last I saw, she was losing 48-44 (it was an ABC poll). Oh, and if Hillary weasels out a nomination through superdelegates, how do you think she'll do with the black vote?

Also, Obama isn't losing everywhere, either:

poll conducted in March (I think February is too old to be usefull).

There are 5 states that go Dem no matter who the nominee is.

There are 4 states taht go Repup no matter who the nominee is.

There is one state that Clinton would win but Obama would lose.

There is one state that Obama would win but Clinton would lose.

There is one state that shows an Clinton win, but an Obama / McCain tie.

There is one state that shows an Obama win, but a Clinton / McCain tie.

So I stand my my original statement that it is basically a tie.

into the campaign IF he is the nominee.

It wouldn't be too much of a factor if we could defend him, we can't.

At least, I can't defend 20 yrs of Rev Wright's hate mongering and Obama exposing his children to same.

Obama's campaign themes are "HOPE, CHANGE and JUDGMENT"

Hillary isn't running for President based off of nothing more than Hope, Change, and Judgment.

"Hope" and "Change" aren't able to be scrutinized, but "Judgment" can be evaluated.

Obama fails badly in the "Judgment" dept.

68. We currently are engaged in the process of determining the Democratic nominee.
As a result of the closeness of remaining candidates, this process will continue for a while.

McCain is taking advantage of this by soft pedaling his positions. His poll numbers are close now, a lot closer than one would think under that circumstances. Most importantly, the poll numbers at this point are meaningless. People who have not been actively involved in the primaries have little knowledge of the candidates, and that won't change until after the conventions.

I suggest you find other ways to sell your candidate.
