*****OFFICIAL SANCTUARY THREAD*****
The Purpose of This Thread:

Have you read yet another inflammatory post by either a Clinton or Obama supporter? Are you fighting an urge to flame away at the originator of that post? Fight that urge in here.

This is not a thread for argument, accusation or spew. This is your official SANCTUARY thread. Instead of hitting the reply button in a thread that's got you mad, come here and simply post this word:

SANCTUARY

That's all. No judgment. No hate. No partisan words. Just SANCTUARY.

Resist the temptation to join in the flame wars and pile ons.

Come in here. In here is SANCTUARY.

20. I agree
I get sucked in to opening GDP threads several times a day and I usually end up wanting to scream. Infighting seems natural if two people disagree but the level of, *cough, cough* discourse is unbearable. I like a good fight and I can fling snark but GDP has been surreal.

Thank you for the Sanctuary. btw, I used to work at a bar/club called "The Sanctuary". Oh, the memories.

21. Nice sentiment
And as a reward for those who thought twice before posting in haste here's a link to the first webisode of Sanctuary starring Amanda Tapping (The blond woman from Stargate SG-1)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K-v4MJScz0

A nice non-partisan show we can discuss while cooling our jets. :)

It's done almost totally with green screen, basically only the actors are real.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_%28web_series%29

http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/

The webisodes are lacking in character development but their main purpose was to get the show picked up. Which has happened.

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/01/sci_fi_picks_up_tappings_isanctu.shtml

The SCI FI Channel in the U.S. has picked up Internet-based fantasy series Sanctuary for a full, 13-episode first season, the network announced today. The series was conceived and written by former Stargate SG-1 writer and producer Damian Kindler, and stars Amanda Tapping ("Samantha Carter"). Tapping is also an executive producer on the show.

The one-hour drama will begin filming in March, produced by Stage 3 Media in association with the SCI FI Channel.

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=3&id=51011&type=0

Amanda Tapping, star and executive producer of SCI FI Channel's upcoming new series Sanctuary, told SCI FI Wire that the show will differ significantly from the Web series on which it is based.

SCI FI Channel announced in late January that it had ordered 13 episodes of Sanctuary, which was created by Damian Kindler and co-written by Martin Wood, both of whom, like Tapping, are veterans of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Tapping will reprise her role as Dr. Helen Magnus, an apparently immortal doctor and scientist who seeks to locate, aid and protect supernatural creatures. To adapt the high-definition digital Web series for television, SCI FI has ordered up a new pilot.

"The fact is it's already evolving," Tapping said in an interview at the channel's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York earlier this month. "Our pilot that we're now going to start shooting is very different from what you've seen on the Web. But is still this crazy character. She's 157 years old, and she's very eccentric and very sexy and very unapologetic. I love it."

As many as three Supreme Court Justices could step down before '12.

Get our Senate majority to 60 after the '10 midterms and thwart the GOP's permanent filibuster.

Big time, folks. They call something like that a "realignment."

YES!!!

May I share my very favorite piece of art EVAR. Not because I'm some big Picasso fan. I dig his stuff but I love Miro much better. This piece is my favorite because it sums up everything that defines an artist: The ability to see the beauty in the simplest things. The average person sees a rusted bicycle seat and handlebars. The artist (Picasso) saw something else:
