Obama to Rendell " Don't HURT ME Bro" "I'm gonna be the Nominee"
The presumptive nominee begs for mercy before the Pennsy Primary. I'm sure the Republicans will step aside because Obama's sense of entitlement will warm their hearts and tug at their sensibilities to be kinder and gentler to a "woss" during the campaign!

Last Round: Rendell Gets a Call From Obama

Order your last round. You’d better make it a stiff one. Here’s what Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell told CNN’s Larry King about the call he got from Barack Obama:

RENDELL: “I had a call from Senator Obama and he said, you know I’m going to be the nominee, and I didn’t argue with him, I said, sure, and he said I just want to make sure nothing happens in Pennsylvania, the campaign here, that will make it harder for us to win in the fall. And I said, senator, don’t even worry about that for five seconds.”

The video shows Rendell’s affable demeanor — but underneath that affability lies a tough, hard-knuckled fighter:

11. I've felt this from the beginning
Obama has many of the same qualities as Bush If elected he will be a terrible president, self absorbed, paranoid, thin skinned, hypersensitive to criticism, unwilling to work with others, etc.

36. Read his policy decisions.
He wants to fix health care, but he wants to cut taxes. He wants to fix the economy yet he doesn't subsidize (ie, tax).

Basically it's unworkable policies intended to make the *illusion* that he's "doing everything for everyone."

Arguing policy is one thing - unsupported slander is another.

since the Rev. Wright flap. Also he stands with his arms folded looking down during the speech whenever there's a new endorsement, which seems an odd posture to take when a Party Big Wig is whipping up the audience.

I'm amazed at how little scrutiny he's gotten in the media...including the more progressive publications who jumped in early to endorse him.

Senator Clinton should drop out of the race. Talk about the height of audacity --

LEAHY AND DODD: These Obama cronies are from two tiny states (who represents about 4 million people in Vermont and Connecticut) are lecturing over 70 million people <(Pennsylvania (>12 million), West Virginia (>1.8 million), Kentucky (>4 million), Oregon (3.7 million), Indiana (> 6 million), Guam (0.17 million), Florida (>18 million), Michigan (>10 million), North Carolina (8.8 million), Puerto Rico (3.9 million), South Dakota (0.7 million), Montana (0.9 million)> that their voices won't count. What arrogance. This is democracy not dictatorship. What right these two people (Dodd couldn't even gain a single delegate in presidential election) have to tell over 70 million people that their judgment is inferior. Give me break. Let the people vote

So WHAT?????

You Hillary supporters have gone supernova.

While all of you have your bonnets in a bluster, Rendell isn't even batting an eyelash.

Obama called Rendell to express his concerns that the campaign didn't end up going in
the ditch, making it harder for Obama to win PA, in the fall. Obama was appealing to
him Dem to Dem.

Obama will be the nominee. The only people shocked by that are those who can't
add, or are in severe denial.

I love these pseudo-Obama scandals--complete with faux outrage. It's what all

43. In case anyone has second thoughts about the votes they cast for Obama...

Millions Americans have one voice, they want take back the vote from Obama!

What is the truthiness about those associations? Clearly we can't find out from his speech, but we can find clue from the debate.

In the last debate in Ohio, when asked: "do you accept the support of Louis Farrakhan"?

The question arose because the longtime racist and anti-Semitic leader of the racist and anti-Semitic Nation of Islam had delivered a two-hour speech devoted mainly to praising Obama's candidacy.

Here is Obama's answer: "You know, I have been very clear in my denunciation of Minister Farrakhan's anti-Semitic comments. I think they are unacceptable and reprehensible. I did not solicit this support. He expressed pride in an African-American who seems to be bringing the country together. I obviously can't censor him, but it is not support that I sought. And we're not doing anything, I assure you, formally or informally, with Minister Farrakhan.
"Minister" Farrakhan?

The honorific seems unduly deferential applied to a demagogue who, just to recall a few pearls of his noxiousness, has labeled Judaism a "gutter religion," said "the white man" is "the anti-Christ," and suggested the post-Katrina failure of the New Orleans levees was a "white" plot to flood "black" neighborhoods. But what is most important here is to note Obama's failure to take a stand on Farrakhan support: "I obviously can't censor him" -- whether Obama could censor him wasn't the question -- "but it is not support I sought." Kind of tepid, no?

Russert tried again.

Q: Do you reject his support?

Here is Obama's second answer. "Well, Tim, you know, I can't say to somebody that he can't say that he thinks I'm a good guy." (This, of course, was just another way of saying Obama couldn't censor Farrakhan.)

The presidential candidate continued: "You know, I -- you know, I -- I have been very clear in my denunciations of him and his past statements, and I think that indicates to the American people what my stance is on those comments."

Again, Russert hadn't asked Obama about "his stance" on "those comments." The question was about Farrakhan as a package deal. Did Obama accept his support? Did Obama reject his support? So far, no answer.

And this was incredible. Before a national audience, Obama, whose very candidacy has come to symbolize a promise of "post-racial" "unity" in America, failed to reject the support of arguably the most racist and divisive figure in America.

Russert tried another tack, this time raising the ties between Farrakhan and Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. of Chicago's Trinity United Church. Russert noted that Wright, whom Obama has called his "spiritual mentor" and "sounding board," has not only traveled with Farrakhan to visit Moammar Gadhafi in Libya -- some junket. Wright has also said that Farrakhan "epitomized greatness." Just last year, Wright's church, known for a creed aptly described as black separatist, bestowed on Farrakhan the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Lifetime Achievement Trumpeteer award.

Does the Farrakhan-Wright relationship explain the reason Obama appeared unwilling to denounce Farrakhan altogether -- not just his more notorious statements? Alas, such a question remained unasked. But the more interesting question is why was it so hard for Senator Post-Racial Unity to reject Minister Racism and Divisiveness?

Until today, When Mr. Hope or Mr. Change or Mr. Unity comes back from vacation, he'll jump out to defend his pastor Jeremiah Wright by only playing "sound bites over and over again"

In today's ABC "the view", Obama said:"I never heard him say some of the things that have people upset"-------of course, for 20 years, Obama did know his pastor believes in "division, hate, victimization, blaming, anger, rage, racism, black against white, rich against poor, etc......"

All those toxic influence in 20 years by his pastor had transfered into Obama's own view.

We don't need to ask more explanation, we want our votes back!

30. It's easy for either candidate's supporters to call their opponent arrogant.
It's all in the perception. Candidates running for president aren't "aw, shucks, I'd just love it if you'd vote for me" types, as they sit and drink tea in their livingrooms, petting the kitty sleeping on their lap. If you want something bad enough, you've got to go out and try to get it.

We have two very fine candidates running. Posts like this aren't helpful.

to those that think using attacks that will harm our chances in the GE have no place in this primary.

67. I see this is a Hillary-inspired trash Obama thread.
Nothing new here, move along people, nothing different from about 400 other threads on here trashing Obama as "arrogant" or some other major character flaw.

All the while the visions of Hillary landing in Bosnia fill the minds of independents and Republicans.

70. why is it that everyone wants to fight each other instead of...
helping to make this a better place to live? "But underneath that affability lies a tough, hard-knuckled fighter". As if Obama is the "Alien" in some movie that has to be destroyed. Peaceful discourse is what we should aspiring to. This country sees fighting as it's best asset. How did we get into Iraq? The Clinton supporters are so old-school and tired. That "fighting" brand is so 90s. Obama represents a break from that, thankfully.

Clintons, both you and Bill... please retire the side because your time has passed you by.

72. the only candidate with a sense of entitlement has been Hillary which is why
she is using her kitchen sink because she is all flustered that it's not going according to the script.
