Most memorable quotes from election 08?
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 05:13 PM by galaxy21
sort of like they do on imdb...

(Hillary on her and Barack)

I look over at the republican nominees...and it's more of the same. You only have to look at us to know we're not more of the same!

(Ron Paul to Mccain and Romney about Iraq)

How many more men are you willing to let die for this?

(Brit Hume on Mccain's Iran gaffe)

He was having a senior moment.

(John Edwards on Obama and Hillary's bickering)

Sorry, I represent the adult wing of the party

2. Senator Leahy: Clinton "ought to withdraw"
"There is no way that Senator Clinton is going to win enough
delegates to get the nomination," Leahy said. "She ought to withdraw and she ought to be backing Senator Obama. Now, obviously that's a decision that only she can make. Frankly I feel that she would have a tremendous career in the Senate."

13. Sen Clinton "It'll be over by Feb. 5" (this was on Dec 30)
http://baltimorechronicle.com/2008/010308Burns.shtml

On Dec. 30, when Hillary Clinton wrapped up with George Stephanopoulos on the ABC Television Sunday talk show "This Week," she signed off by absently summarizing the primary season: “It’ll be over by Feb. 5.”

18. I liked this quote by John Mccain during one of the debates
Edited on Sat Mar-29-08 07:06 PM by galaxy21
on torture

When we in Vietnam (getting tortured), the only thing that sustained us was the knowledge that if the roles were reversed, and we were the captors, we wouldn't be doing the same to them. It's not about them, it's about us!

Of course, he seems to have gone back on that now, but it's still a quote I like that sums up the anti torture argument nicely .

I was surprised that line that Clinton used in the first one-on-one debate did not get more press. I loved that line!

20. One of the most heartwarming lines
Obama in the Texas debate on his so-called "Jewish problem":

"I would not be sitting here were it not for a whole host of Jewish Americans who supported the civil rights movement and helped to ensure that justice was served in the South."
