Can you envision Hillary running on a third party if she loses nomination?
How likely do you think that may occur? She seems very determined.

3. She is a DLC
and she can bitch and moan about Florida and Michigan being unseated and how unfair it is and thus deny Obama the ability to be elected so she can run again in 2012.

9. And in what universe do you think she'd believe that?
It'd split the vote. McCain wins. Simple.

17. Exactly. So she'd pass on the indy run because she can't win, not because she is a loyal democrat.

32. Hillary is loyal to noone. It's time that you realized this.
Your dream-version of Hillary is a far cry from the real one the rest of us have to deal with.

12. No. She's not that either
what she is,dearie,is someone who was willing to try and frame Obama as a fringe minority candidate who wouldn't play well with white voters. And that's quite bad enough.

I wouldn't put it past her if she makes a case that the Democratic Party is really undemocratic and she makes the DLC a separate party and uses that to destroy Obama's chances on a platform saying he shouldn't win anyways due to the Wright Controversy.

15. some sort of split is coming but it's not going to happen in that way
You're not off the mark entirely

don't let the hostility here bother you

read the list of corporate contributors to the DLC, same as the RNC

it is truly a party within the party

then review their platform, which is antithetical to the progressive values of the Democratic Base

and notice how, if they suspect they can't get Clinton in, they are trotting out Al Gore...

who, although a brilliant statesman, is another DLCer, marginally more electable than Clinton

they probably won't need to do that... because they will take it to the limit with the pony they already bet on - I'm saying she will probably win.

the race/gender/religion ruckus is the sideshow and you put your finger on the REAL issue with this question

howard dean initiated a system that enabled the party to bipass traditional, questionable campaign financing practices

the nomination of Obama is a continuation of that process

with impending loss of net neutrality, this new phenomenon may well be nipped in the bud, and be added to a long list of dirty tricks they have used to keep the power... to keep the party small... and to politically marginalize the majority of Americans that are anti-war, anti-nafta and FOR change... after years of justifiable cynicism, the tide is rising

This is about Iran among other things

Now I have a question for you, and if you are a premium member (and I am not) you may email it, so we dont' get distracted

if Clinton is nominated (and I beleive she will be) what would YOU suggest, the democratic wing of the democratic party DO, to address this coups d etat'?

She is a Yellar Dawg Dem, thorugh and through. Of this I have no doubt.

Obama, OTOH... yes, he might mount a third party ticket if he doesn't get the nod.

26. Third party, no
I know it's not a popular idea here but what I'd worry more about is her running with McCain. Not saying it's likely, but it's more likely than third party I'd think. They are both pretty big on crossing the isle and there's been enough talk in the country recently about how the partisan divide is a problem, from a purely political standpoint that would be a tough ticket to beat. Hard enough to beat that it might be somewhat attractive to both if he's looking bad otherwise and she loses here.

29. I don't think so.
It would guarantee a McCain defeat. Republicans are already skeptical of his credentials and adding Clinton & Clinton as second and third in command respectively, particularly with She-Clinton likely to take over if McCain's health doesn't hold up, would see a massive chunk of the Republican base flock to Obama.

It would look like the ultimate hissy fit tactic, too - "I COULDN'T WIN MY PARTY'S NOMINATION SO I WENT TO THE OTHER!!!" which could be easily exploited. Of course, it goes without saying that any Democrat who voted for that ticket would be a slice of humanity far, far below a piece of shit in the middle of the street.

So I don't think that will happen - Even if the Clintons wanted to - and I don't think they would - McCain wouldn't be stupid enough to ruin his campaign in such a manner.
