How are Hillary supporters dealing with her repeated lie about her Bosnia trip?
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 08:19 AM by conservdem
I have not read posts her in awhile and my quick searching this morning, I did not find much from her supporters on the repeated lie. How are they dealing with it or explaining it?

Have any said it's the proverbial straw that broke their support for her?

a poster with this attitude, it turns me off so badly. That is why I cannot commit to either candidate. I see so much crap from both sides, that I have decided to just let it all play out till the Convention and I will support whoever comes out the other side with the nomination... But I just feel sad when I see thing like this...

2. She 'misspoke' due to a lack of sleep. Nevermind the fact that she said it for months, or from a
prepared speech. Her supporters are excusing it, just like they excuse why she hasn't released the past 6 years of her tax returns. She can do no wrong.

10. But when that 3 am call comes
what will she tell her fellow Americans in the speech later that night? A lie or an embellishment? Sorry for being so cynical but this election cycle has given me a different view of the senator.

5. Fodder instead of substance are the things that drive the BO movement.
It is pathetic, specially when we need a REAL leader to get US out of our current mess.

17. How many Lies have we caught Obama in about Rev Wright?
No, I wasn't there when he God Damned America.

No, I didn't know he said the government infected black people with Aids.

No, I didn't know he made references to Sen Clinton.

All said in a tv interview with Anderson Cooper..they recanted several days later in his PA speech..

If you want to review his lies there in the video forum or I'll post it here.

No one can TOP Obama as the Biggest Liar in this Campaign. He's so busy lying on the campaign trail and voting present in the Senate, theres very little time left on being productive helping the people he was elected to represent.

20. obama did contradict himself about wright, YOU are wrong.
First obama denied IT then during his 'race' speech HE admitted HE had been present when wright's sermon was derogatory. The entire obama campaign is about denying the facts and the truth, but at least HE is consistent.

and don't deal with reality. Clearly demonstrated in the above few replies.

14. Lying about one's experience is not "Fodder"
Why should I believe ANYTHING she says when she lies about something so easily disproven? We have had to endure over 7 years of lies from the Bush Whitehouse. Why would I want more lies from a Clinton Whitehouse?

35. If that were the case, I would think she would produce some of the Air Force crew
members who flew her in where ever and saw her ducking and running and dodging the sniper fire as she described. As it is, she just looks like a pathetic, delusional mental case...Not what I want for a President.

12. Every single one of them have disavowed and rejected those lies openly and loudly.
And have taken her to the woodshed on that.

I remember it clearly when the story broke about her creative embellishments and how her supporters made it clear they condemn in the strongest possible way her fabrications.

Of course, I was sleep deprived at the time, so I could be misremembering how it all went down with her supporters.

13. I gather the'd just assume she confused that trip with otrhers BUT then that is suspect because
she had intertwined the other people with her in her tale and despite those other people who were with her saying she is lying she conitnued to profess that that is what happened...it wasnt until the media picked up on it that she lied....

And the worst thing is that it doesnt surprise me that she lied because it seems so natural and expected that she would...just watch Hillary: The Movie (on YouTube) to see how easy it is for her.

Btw, her court trial is set for April 25th i believe.

16. Go after Hillary on this, not Hillary supporters - please.
The Bosnia story has certainly opened the door wider to questioning Hillary's "experience" and her claims there in - but there is no need to rub salt in the wounds of her supporters - who I am sure are none too proud of this episode (and the ones that are going lalalalala I can't hear you, you aren't going to be able to communicate with any how).

23. Good point.
But I really wanted to see if there was another side to his story, and if not, if it has had any impact on her supporters. I apologize to any of her supporters that I offend with this post. If Obama prevails I hope they will vote for him.

(I originally supported Biden, but now support Obama.)

19. Something that's always bothered me...
about her "it proves I'm human" speech.

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/03/25/shameless-liar-on-bosnia-im-only-human/
She said, "You know, look, I... I made a mistake and you know I had a different memory and my uh, uh, you know, my, uh, staff and others have, uh, you know, all kinda come together trying to sort out... uh, um, so I made a mistake. That happens. It proves I'm human."

I got the impression that the something her staff and others were trying to sort out was not the facts (which were known), but her STORY, how she would explain the discrepancy... which is why she trailed off and never finished that thought.

Because the "lies" are mistakes in recollections. Everybody makes mistakes. Obama does also. But nobody calls Obama's mistakes "lies".

34. Do you really think someone as intelligent as she is would
have a mistaken recollection about whether she and her daughter were in a location with sniper fire and running for cover?

I view it as a fabrication, not a mistake. I do not yet know if Obama lies. It would disappoint me but not shock me if he has.
