30,000 flood Girardville for Bill Clinton’s visit
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 04:43 PM by mantis
All you Obama supporters should inform the writer of this article that the people were there for the parade and not the former Pres. The writer and myself are local...but you clearly know more about the area.

That is alot of people for such a small town.

There are pics, just didn't feel like doing the work.

2. FORMER President BILL Clinton.
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 04:23 PM by anonymous171
Hell I'd go and see him too.

EDIT: ACTUALLY, this is more Clinton propaganda. They appear at large gatherings to give the illusion that they can draw HUGE crowds. Nice, clever, and deceitful.

Maybe, 15,000 for Bill. Again, no one was there to see the candidate Hillary, she wasn't there.

31. They were there to see Bill.
I went to a Bill Clinton speech, and the people in the packed house, were there to see Bill. Sure, many of them supported Hillary, but even the Hillary supporters were there to see Bill.

Any other Hillary Campaign event, without Bill or Hillary wouldn't bring those numbers.

But, I think it is great that Bill can generate so much excitement, he definitely boosted the crowds numbers!

I was there to show my support for Hillary. Along with most of the other 20,000 that attended for the first time. I was hoping for Hillary. The papers were all saying Hillary would be attending up until the last day.

There is usually around 10,000 or abouts...so an extra 15,000 to 20,000 were in attendance.

Trust me, they were there for Hillary...I didn't see any BILL signs.

11. Turnout at these events often depends on who controls the local Dems
For the most part the Clintons have the support of the PA political machine and they can turn people out to appear quite easily. I've been the receipient of such requests in NJ many times when Dem candidates appear here. It makes a big difference.

Anytime a candidate or office holder appears in a state the local party calls up Dem Committee members and office holders to get the crowds out.

47. Still Misleading...
More accurate would be... Annual St. Patty's Parade draws larger than typical crowd in anticipation of Bill Clinton Visit. A majority (greater than 50%) would have been there regardless.

Unless you drive pretty darn slow it would not take you HOURS to drive 60 miles. And New York and Philly would NOT be considered part of the coal region. Nice try though.

All of us living in the past with our Hillary signs. You obama supporters are a trip...honestly...you folks make me laugh..haha. I mean that in a very nice way. Like a big crowd coming coming out to show their support for Hillary is somehow dangerous to Obama. Honestly, there would have been even more people if Hillary attended.
